  • TEAK

Teak (Tectona Grandis) is a deciduous hardwood tree that is native to SouthEast Asia. Originally found naturally in several countries in the region, significant quantities are now only found in Burma. Due to its naturally high oil content, Teak is resistant to both rotting and warping when exposed to climatic extremes. For centuries, this special quality of Teak has made it the preferred choice for marine decking and construction and the premium timber for outdoor furniture. Due to the high value of Teak, over the years it has been planted and cultivated as a cash crop in many countries including Indonesia and several in Africa and South America. Teak is not naturally found in these areas, none of which are rainforests.

    Care

Over a few months in an outdoor environment, untreated teak will weather to a silver gray color, which is due to the action of sunlight. Many owners of teak furniture prefer this natural patina and an example is shown in the seat pictured above. The following care products may be used to retain or restore the original color of Teak and protect it as described. In the UK we recommend you contact Andrew Banks at www.andrewbanks.co.uk who will maintain your furniture using our care products if you do not wish to undertake this work yourself.

      Products:

    • Teak Colour Guard - 4TCG applied annually will maintain the natural color of teak using UV inhibitors to slow the natural graying process caused by sunlight and pigments that help to maintain its natural color. This treatment must be applied before the Teak is allowed to weather or after cleaning.
    • Teak Stain Guard – 4TSG forms an invisible layer to protect your Teak from everyday stains such as butter, oil and red wine making cleaning easier.
    • Teak Cleaner – 4TC will quickly remove accumulated dirt.
    • Teak Oil – 4TO is the traditional method of retaining the color of Teak although its repeated application will make the Teak much darker in color and for this reason we do not recommend its repeated use.
    • Anti-Wasp Solution – 4WS contains vanilla essence that harmlessly deters wasps from defacing the surface of wood by harvesting the cellulose to build their nests. This product is not available in the USA.

    STAINLESS STEEL

We make our furniture using 316 “marine grade” stainless steel to withstand the rigors of an outdoor environment. However, you should undertake regular maintenance using our care product to preserve the fine appearance of your furniture.

    • To Clean:

Cleaning once or twice a year will be adequate in most circumstances but we recommend more frequent cleaning in a coastal environment and occasionally rinsing your furniture with fresh water. Stainless steel furniture used in a chlorinated indoor environment will require frequent cleaning and is therefore not recommended.

    • Care:

Stainless Steel Clean & Guard – 4SSCG All Stainless Steel is susceptible to brown surface marks, which are cosmetic and do not damage the product. Remove these marks by regular cleaning with this care product, which leaves a fine layer of Teflon® to help prevent their appearance.

    ALUMINUM

Aluminum is a strong yet light material that does not corrode or rust making it ideal for outdoor furniture that benefits from being easily moved in use. Our aluminum furniture is pre-washed, etch primed and electrostatically powder coated for an optimum, even cover before being baked in an oven to fix the finish. This process prevents oxidation and gives an attractive, hard wearing surface and the possibility to offer varied color themes.

    • Care:
    • Aluminum Cleaner – 4AC Aluminium may be washed with soapy water or treated with our Powder Coated Aluminum Cleaner, supplied with an application pad.

    WOVEN

We use the finest synthetic material for our Woven Furniture that is hand-woven over a powder coated aluminum frame to produce splendid furniture that is strong, color fast and entirely resistant to sun and rain.

    • Care:
    • Textilene® and Woven Non-Foam Cleaner – 4WTC This cleaner maintains Textilene and Woven furniture without any unsightly residue.

    BRAIDED CORD

Our round braided cord is made from Textilene® and Diversatex® branded yarns that use non-stretch polyester with a PVC coating. This material is ideal for outdoor furniture being light in weight, resistant to UV light, mold and waterproof with a deserved reputation for durability and strength.

    • Care:
    • Textilene® and Woven Non-Foam Cleaner – 4WTC This cleaner maintains Textilene and Woven furniture without any unsightly residue.

    TEXTILENE® SLING

We manufacture the slings for our aluminum, teak and stainless steel furniture from high quality Textilene® brand material that is made from PVC coated polyester yarn. This material is strong and durable with a high resistance to mildew in a damp environment. Textilene® is fire resistant and requires very little maintenance.

    • Care:
    • Textilene® and Woven Non-Foam Cleaner - This cleaner maintains Textilene and Woven furniture without any unsightly residue.

    COVERS:

Our furniture covers are made using WeatherMAX-LT®, a modified highly UV-resistant polyester fabric offering superior strength and durability with long-term color retention. This fabric is the industry’s most balanced and cost-effective fabric available for outdoor applications requiring high water repellency and excellent breathability; the perfect choice for outdoor furniture covers where lightness and ease of storage offer an advantage. These lightweight, one-way breathable covers allow trapped moisture to disperse, but prevent rain and dust from penetrating. A unique fastening ensures a secure fit. The life and good looks of the cover depend a great deal on the way it is used and how it is cared for. The covers are easy to put on and remove, and can be stored in their own pouch when not required.

        Hints:

      • If the furniture has any sharp corners or edges, place foam rubber on the sharp edge to reduce risk of puncture or abrasion of the covers.
      • For table and chair combinations, placing an object, such as a beach ball, under the center of the cover can help with water drainage.
      • When covering the Dune daybed and ottoman please ensure that the ottoman and cushion are placed on top of the base cushion before covering.
      • **Note: covers for standard dining groups are designed to cover the furniture with the chairs not under the table. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery**

    CUSHIONS

To Clean: One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella® fabrics looking good is to hose fabrics off on a monthly basis with clean water. This helps prevent dirt from becoming deeply embedded in the fabric and eliminates the need for more frequent vigorous cleaning. In most environments, a thorough cleaning will be needed every two to three years.

While Sunbrella fabric offers excellent protection against stains, full removal is not always guaranteed if spills are not addressed promptly. Protect the area round the Sunbrella fabric when using a bleach solution – bleach may discolor non-Sunbrela Fabrics. Always rinse Sunbrella thoroughly to completely remove bleach.

**Please be aware of the environment when cleaning with bleach. Bleach can have harmful effects on the natural environment around you. We do not advise using bleach if you are surrounded by a body of water or other environment that could be affected** Sunbrella should only be allowed to air dry. Use of bleach and/or advanced age of the fabric application may impact the deterioration of the sewing thread and other non-Sunbrella components. For more information, call 336.221.2211

        • Then rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue, and allow fabric to air dry.
        • Machine Washing: Some removable casings can be washed in the washing machine, however consult the furniture manufacturer before removing the casing as cushion construction may vary.

          Machine Washing:
        • First close all zippers.
        • Machine wash in cold water on the delicate cycle with normal amounts of mild laundry detergent. For severe mold or mildew, add 1 cup of bleach.
        • Allow fabric to air dry.
      • Non-Removable Fabric:
        • Prepare a solution of 1/4 cup mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water.
        • Use a soft bristle brush to clean, allowing the cleaning solution to soak into the fabric.
        • Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue and allow fabric to air dry.
      • Seam-To-Seam Cleaning: When cleaning upholstered pieces, clean the entire surface area of the fabric, from seam to seam, instead of rubbing the fabric in a circular motion on the spill. This method, along with an extractor, may be required in order to avoid water rings and residue.
      • Mold and Mildew: Sunbrela Fabrics do not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances if not removed from the fabric. To remove mold or mildew:
        • Prepare a solution of 1 cup of bleach and 1/4 cup mild soap per gallon of water.

    ALLOY DECORATIVE SHADE FABRICS

One of the best ways to keep Sunbrella® Shade fabrics that contain PVC looking good and to delay deep or vigorous cleanings is to properly maintain the fabrics. This can be accomplished by simply brushing off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics.

    • To Clean:
      • Brush off loose dirt.
      • Hose down.
      • Prepare a cleaning solution of water and mild soap such as Woolite® or Dawn® dishwashing liquid.
      • Use a sponge to clean.
      • Allow the cleaning solution to soak into the fabric. Rinse thoroughly until all soap residue is removed.
      • Air dry.
    • Stubborn Stains, Spills, & Mildew: Sunbrela Fabrics do not promote mildew growth, however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric. To clean stubborn spills:
      • Prepare a solution of 1 cup of bleach and 1/4 cup mild soap per gallon of clean water.
      • Allow the mixture to soak into the fabric for up to 15 minutes.
      • Remove the spill with a sponge or clean towel.
      • Rinse thoroughly until all soap residue is removed.
      • Allow fabric to air dry.
      • If spill and/or mildew is severe, bleach quantities may be increased. Isopropyl alcohol can also be used to spot clean stubborn spills, using a sponge or towel.
**DO NOTdry clean Sunbrela Fabrics** **DO NOT apply any solvent-based cleaning solutions to Sunbrella Shade fabrics that contain PVC, as it may accelerate the aging and degradation of the fabric. These items would include chemicals such as acetone, liquid fuels, paint thinner, mineral spirits and turpentine**

  • FURNITURE COVERS:

While most patio furniture is highly resistant to weather, furniture covers can extend the life of your seating or dining pieces, especially if the furniture is exposed to extremes of temperature or wet, salty air. If your climate has harsh winters, it is best to stow furniture inside during the coldest months.

    GENERAL MAINTENANCE:

Fine outdoor furniture deserves exceptional care. Brown Jordan furniture can be enjoyed for many years when well maintained. Wash the furniture with a solution of mild detergent and water, rinse with clear water, and dry thoroughly. To all metal frames, apply a fine, clear automobile wax for maximum protection against harmful ultraviolet exposure and salt air.

For best protection, perform this maintenance two or three times per year in low pollution areas or more frequently in high pollution areas.

**Please note that these durable materials can be safely cleaned as often as desired. Note: Some suntan and sunblock products may be harmful to resin, Suncloth® cushions, Versatex® mesh, and vinyl lace and strap. Do notDo not allow such products to come in contact with any seating surfaces to avoid deep penetrating stains, which are not covered under warranty**

    TEAK FURNITURE:

Teak is a natural wood material with very high density and oil content. Because of those characteristics, teak will provide years of service in outdoor environments. Brown Jordan offers two types of teak finishes:

    • Natural Teak and Driftwood Teak: Our Natural Teak is manufactured with no added sealers or finishes. By buffing the wood during fabrication, the natural oils come to the surface and showcase the beauty of the natural wood grain and color. The appearance of Natural Teak will weather to a silvery gray patina over time. This is normal and does not degrade the performance of the furniture. If desired, the customer can use cleaners and sealers, such as the Golden Care line of Teak Cleaner and Teak Sealer, to maintain or restore the teak to its original color. New Natural Teak furniture may have spots of oil, similar to water marks, on the surface of the wood. Washing gently will remove the spots from the wood. The oil may stain fabric cushions where they rest against the furniture. This is normal and will not harm the fabric. To remove these stains, use a soft brush and Simple Green® or OxiClean™ cleaners.

The Driftwood finish is a multi-step pigmented stain process. As part of the application process, the wood grain is raised using mechanical abrasion. This, combined with the wood expanding and contracting with changing temperature and moisture levels, may result in hairline cracks appearing over time in the finish, the wood, and the furniture joints. These (1) small cracks do not affect the integrity of the furniture. If the product finish is scratched or gouged, contact Customer Service for the touch-up kit. If left exposed outdoors, the Driftwood finish will weather and fade over time. As this happens, the teak below the stain is exposed and will begin to weather to the same silver-gray color as natural teak. The time for this transition depends on the environment and exposure. Left uncovered, the finish can start to wear within one season. Full patina will usually be achieved in 3 years.

    • To Clean:
      • Use a Hose to spray the furniture (warning; do not use a power washer).
      • Using a mild scrubbing pad, brush, or sponge; clean the furniture using Golden Care® Hardwood & Teak Cleaner. Scrub the surface just enough to remove any loose finish particles and dirt.
      • Allow the surface to dry for 24 hours, then apply Golden Care® Instant Grey Teak Protector to the surface using a soft cloth. Allow to air dry for 24 hours. Repeat application as needed to achieve uniform color.
    • To Maintain:
      • To maintain teak furnishings, we recommend that you dust furniture weekly to maintain the finish luster.
      • Furniture can be rinsed weekly with clean water when the furniture is in or near a saltwater environment.
      • To clean your pieces more thoroughly, use a soft bristle brush and a mild dish soap solution. This is recommended at least once per season or before storing.
      • For both finish types, we recommend the use of outdoor furniture covers to protect the furniture when it is not in use for longer periods of time, keeping it looking new longer.

    MAHOGANY FURNITURE:

Mahogany is a richly colored wood material known for its uniform grain. Like teak, Mahogany wood may naturally expand and contract with exposure to the elements. To keep the surface free of dust, clean the wood using only a damp cloth. Wipe off excessive moisture and clean any water, oil, and food spills immediately. In extreme sun climates, the wood furniture may be covered or kept in a shaded area.

**Note: Brown Jordan Mahogany is treated with a wood stain to protect the wood and enhance its unique color. Depending on climate exposure, maintenance is recommended in one-to-three years. Light sanding with a 280 grit sandpaper is recommended prior to new application of the stain. Be sure to clean the wood surface to remove all sanding residue and particles. Please allow a drying time of one hour for a single coat and up to four hours for multiple coats**

Unlike most other common wood finishes, the Brown Jordan mahogany stain allows for additional application without the need to strip off the entire top coat. For information about Brown Jordan mahogany stain, please contact a Brown Jordan Sales Representative or Customer Service.

  • CERAMIC:

    • Material: These table tops / tiles are made of ceramic – an extremely durable material, which is ideal for outdoor use all year round. Because the table top is made from a natural material, the color shades may vary from table to table.
    • Tiles: There may be roughness on the edges and surface, which derive during the production and processing stages of manufacture.
    • Handling: It is important to handle your table top with care and avoid setting it down hard or putting strain on the edges after the packaging has been removed. Ceramic table tops should always be handled by two people and always carried in a vertical position after the packaging has been removed.
NOTE! Carrying the table top horizontally can cause cracks to form in the middle of the table top
    • To Clean:
      • Clean: Clean the table top with a microfiber cloth.
      • Stains: Stains can be removed with water and ordinary, gentle dishwashing detergent.
      • Stubborn Stains: Stubborn stains, a dab of concentrated detergent can be effective. Always wipe the table afterwards with a clean cloth. We recommend carefully cleaning the table at least 2-3 times a year.
    • Storage: We recommend covering the table top/furniture with a furniture cover in autumn and winter months for protection. However, please note that condensation can form under furniture covers, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the furniture to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation. If possible, it is best to store the table indoors during winter months to shelter it from the elements.

    HPL (High Pressure Laminate):

    • Material: HPL/Compact laminate table tops are made from resin-impregnated paper, which has been compressed under very high pressure into a strong material with a scratch-resistant surface. Compact laminate table tops generally require a minimum of maintenance. It is natural for the edges of the table top to grow lighter over time. To maintain the deep black color of the edges, treat them with a little linseed oil. Over time, tiny cracks can develop around the edges of the table top.
    • To Clean: Clean the table top with a moist microfibre cloth. Most stains can be removed with water and ordinary all-purpose cleaner or dishwashing detergent. For more stubborn stains, a dab of concentrated detergent can be effective. We also recommend cleaning the entire table thoroughly 2-3 times a year. Never use abrasive or highly aggressive cleaning products, such as steel wool, scouring powder or other polishes (for home use), to clean laminate table tops, as they can scratch the surface and cause irreparable damage to your table top.
    • Storage: There are several ways to properly store your table in the autumn and winter months for maximum protection and to make spring cleaning easier.
      • It is best to store your table indoors.
      • Alternatively, it can be stored on a covered terrace, patio or carport, where it is protected from the elements.
      • Finally, your table can be stored outdoors under a furniture cover.

However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the table top to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation

    HI-CORE:

    • Material: Cane-line HI-Core is a strong and weather-resistant table top made mainly of acrylic. During manufacture, the item is towed so that an elegant clean and soft surface is obtained. The table top generally requires minimal maintenance.
    • To Clean: Clean the table top with a microfibre cloth. Most stains can be removed with water and ordinary, gentle dishwashing detergent. For more stubborn stains, a dab of concentrated detergent can be effective. We recommend carefully cleaning the table at least 2-3 times a year. If you are unlucky to get scratches on the plate, these can be sanded with a very fine piece of sandpaper.
    • Always Avoid:
      • Never use abrasive or particularly aggressive products such as steel wool, abrasive powder or other polish (for home use) when cleaning Hi-core plates, unless they are intended for this purpose, as this may cause scratches to the surface and thus damage the plate.
      • Do not store your cushions on the furniture frames as this can cause mold and mildew to form on the surface, making spring cleaning more difficult.

    CERTIFIED TEAK:

    • Material: Cane-line teak is approved and forested under the SVLK – Sistem Verifikasi Legalitas Kayu (Indonesia's timber legality assurance system) certification system. This is a guarantee that the teak production supports responsible forest management. Teak is a hardwood that is ideal for outdoor use due to its high oil content. Our teak furniture is delivered untreated. If the furniture remains untreated, the teakwood will patina over time and turn a pale gray color. If you wish to retain the original golden color, we recommend treating teak furniture with a recommended teak sealant.

Note that teakwood is a natural product and therefore continues to change. This means that small cracks can develop due to drying and that slats can warp slightly
    • To Clean: If you wish to retain the golden color, the furniture must be treated with teak sealant before use and on a regular basis. How often treatment is needed depends on the climate and whether the furniture is placed in a sheltered position, for example under a roof. As a general rule, teak table tops should be cleaned and treated at least a couple of times a year.
      • Clean with a recommended teak cleaner.
      • Rinse thoroughly with water
      • Allow the furniture to dry.
      • Treat with teak sealant.
If the furniture has developed patina, it may be necessary to sand it down before cleaning and treating it.
      • Clean daily with a moist cloth, water and washing-up liquid.
      • Alternatively, use a soap flake solution to saturate the wood so that the furniture does not get stained as easily.
      • You can also use a lukewarm cloth or a soft sponge for cleaning your teak furniture.
    • Storage: There are several ways to properly store your furniture in autumn and winter months for maximum protection and to make spring cleaning easier.
      • It is best to store your furniture on a covered terrace, patio or carport, where it is protected from the elements.
      • Alternatively, it can be left outside under a furniture cover.
      • However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the table top to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation

    LINOLEUM:

    • Material: Linoleum is a natural material and consists of linseed oil, cold pressed, to which dyes and various types of natural fillings are added. The material is not scratch resistant and only for indoor use.
    • To Clean:
      • Linoleum is a soft material that is easy to clean with a damp cloth, and then immediately wiped again with a dry cloth.
      • Do not use dishwashing detergent, brown soap, or other ammonia-containing products.
      • In case of stubborn stains, we recommend washing with water and soap chips, which will also leave the table with a surface that is more durable.
      • We recommend using coasters when applying hot pots and bowls on the table.

    GLASS:

    • Material: The glass table top is made from 3mm, 8 mm, 10mm and 12 mm tempered glass.
      • Coloured/frosted glass table tops: There is a difference between the top and bottom sides. The top side is frosted glass and the bottom side is covered with coloured foil. Do not scratch the bottom side, as the coloured foil can be damaged.
    • Handling: It is important to handle your table top with care and avoid setting it down hard or putting strain on the edges after the packaging has been removed. Glass table tops should always be handled by two people.
    • To Clean: These table tops generally require only a minimum of maintenance.
      • Wipe it down after use with a moist microfibre cloth and mild detergent.
      • Placing objects on the table top, such as a potted plant, can cause scratches or lime deposits. Lime deposits can be removed with a mild vinegar solution.
      • Moving/pushing things with rough edges across the table can cause scratches that cannot be removed.
    • Storage: Your furniture can stand outdoors all year round. However, it is best to store it under a furniture cover during winter months or during periods when the furniture is not in use.
      • However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the table top to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation

    ALUMINUM (Anodized):

    • Material: Cane-line offers parasols with an anodized aluminum pole. Anodizing is an electrochemical surface treatment that ensures longer durability and resistance to corrosion and scratches. Anodizing increases the thickness of the aluminum’s naturally occurring oxide layer (protective membrane). The increased layer of oxidation ensures that the appearance of the aluminum is preserved for many years. Furthermore, the metallic surface of anodized aluminum makes for a more aesthetic, uniform surface.
    • To Clean: Minimal maintenance is generally required. However, it may be necessary to clean and care for the parasol pole (especially if the product is used near the coast) to prevent corrosion and discoloration. We therefore recommend that you wipe the pole with a damp cloth and/or ordinary household soap. Please note that the products used must not contain chlorine
    • Stains: For stubborn stains, an aqueous solvent such as white spirit can be used for cleaning. If you treat the anodized surface with wax or spray products for anodized aluminum, future cleaning will be easier due to the smooth and uniform surface achieved.
    • Storage: The parasol can stand outside all year round. However, we recommend covering it with a parasol cover during the winter or prolonged periods when not in use. Be aware of the importance of “lifting” the cover every so often to allow the air to circulate and remove any condensation.

    RATTAN:

    • Material: Rattan is the rascal of the jungle. Rattan belongs to the palm family. Rattan is a climbing plant that grows over trees and other plants in the rainforest. There are about 600 species of rattan. Cane-line uses only the best and strongest for furniture production.
      • Sustainable: Rattan is an incredibly fast growing palm, which makes it a very sustainable material. The outer layer of the rattan plant is peeled off and used for weaving. The core of the rattan is used to make furniture, which due to its movement and flexibility enables it to create a unique and very comfortable design.
      • Rattan production under proper conditions: Cane-line ensures sustainability in relation to the environment and human relationship in a society, which has its roots deeply embedded in rattan. All processing is conducted in accordance with the international certifications SA8000 (social responsibility) and ISO14001 (environmental management).
    • To Clean: Rattan is only for indoor use. For cleaning and daily maintenance:
      • Use a wrung cloth. Once to twice yearly clean with white soap flakes and lukewarm water wiping off extra fluid with a dry cloth.

    CAST IRON:

    • Material: Cast iron from Cane-line is composed of alloy of iron, carbon and silicon, which together provide a material particularly suitable for products that require great strength and heat resistance. Therefore, cast iron is an obvious choice for fire pits that are exposed to high temperatures. Continuous maintenance is important, as otherwise over time, you will see rust formation on the surface in the places where the paint has been scratched and worn.
    • To Clean:
      • Make sure to regularly remove ash from the fire pit
      • Wash it off in clean water
      • Dry it thoroughly when the items are cold. Over time, the surface may become brighter to look at.
      • Rust:
        • If rust appears on the surface, clean the product.
        • Remove the rust formation with fine sandpaper
        • Give the product a short or a complete refresh with a heat-resistant outdoor spray paint (600 ºC) intended for fire pits and grill items.
    • Storage: If the product is not used during the winter period, we recommend storing it in a dry room to minimize maintenance.
    • Important Info: Be aware that the product may leave rust marks on the surface on which it stands. In addition, the product becomes very hot during use, so it may leave marks on the surface on which it stands. The product gets hot during use, so do not touch the product without gloves that can withstand the heat, and be aware of local legislation regarding the use of fire pits. Use of the fire pit is at your own risk (both to yourself and others).

POWDER COATED HOT DIP GALVANIZED STEEL:

    • Material: Cane-line offers furniture with frames produced in hot-dip galvanized powder-coated Steel. Hot-dip galvanizing is a surface treatment ensuring longer durability and corrosion resistance. The surface treatment is done by dipping the product in liquid zinc after having been cleaned, and thereby forming a strong chemical bond between the steel and the zinc. The subsequent powder-coating ensures an additional protection of the surface.
    • To Clean: Basically, hot-dip galvanized powder-coated steel requires minimal maintenance. However, it is necessary to clean the product to keep it neat, especially if the product is used close to coastal stretches. This is in order to counteract the promotion of corrosion and discoloration. We recommend wiping the furniture with a cloth, possibly with ordinary household soap. Please note that the detergent used must not contain chlorine.
      • Stains: For stains aqueous solvents can be used for cleaning, such as alcohol.
    • Storage: It is recommended to cover the furniture with a cover during the winter period or for longer periods when not in use. Be aware of the importance of ”lifting” the cover once in a while, so that air can circulate and remove any alleged condensation.

    ALUMINUM (Powder Coated):

    • Material: Cane-line offers a wide range of furniture in powder-coated aluminum. Powder coating serves as a protective layer that is tinted in a variety of colors. Aluminum furniture is ideal for use outdoors as well as indoors.
    • To Clean: Aluminum furniture generally requires a minimum of maintenance. If the furniture is stored near the coast, it will need to be cleaned more frequently using fresh water and soap. Don’t be too rough on your furniture to avoid causing dents, as this can damage the powder coating. At worst, moisture can reach the aluminum and damage the finish. Vases, glass and similar items can lead to marks on the surface, if there is moisture under the item for more days. Make sure to keep the surface clean and dry, if things / items are put on the table for several days.
    • Storage: Your furniture can stay outdoors all year round, but it is best to store it under a furniture cover during winter months or during periods when the furniture is not in use. However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the furniture to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation. If possible, it is best to store your furniture indoors during winter months to protect it from the elements.

    WEAVE:

    • Material: Cane-line Weave® is a fiber made from highly durable, solution-dyed polyethylene (PE), which is ideal for outdoor use, because it withstands moisture and large variations in temperature. Both the structure of the fibers and the weave ensure elasticity and optimal sitting comfort. The durable material is UV-resistant and requires minimal maintenance. Cane-line Weave ® has been developed to withstand climate conditions all over the world and the material will retain its color and shape for many years. All products are hand-woven with the Cane-line Weave® fiber, which can vary slightly in color, creating a nice contrast in the surface of the weave. This gives the furniture a unique, natural and exclusive look.
    • To Clean:
      • Because the product is used outdoors over extended periods of time, regular cleaning with a soft brush and soapy water is important. This ensures the removal of superficial soil and debris, such as leaves, berries, pollen and bird droppings, before they have a chance to build up and become more difficult to remove.
      • Alternatively, the product can be cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner set at moderate.
    • Storage: There are several ways to properly store your furniture in autumn and winter months for maximum protection and to make spring cleaning easier.
      • It is best to store furniture indoors.
      • Alternatively, it can be stored on a covered terrace, patio or carport, where it is protected from the elements.
      • Finally, furniture can be stored outdoors under a furniture cover. However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the furniture to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation

    STAINLESS STEEL:

    • Material: Stainless steel is an extremely durable and weather-resistant material. We recommend cleaning the furniture regularly with a microfibre cloth and soapy water. We recommend covering your furniture with a furniture cover in autumn and winter for protection.
    • To Clean: While stainless steel is a very durable material, rust film can still build up on the surface. Rust film is tiny metal particles that attach to the surface and look like little red spots.
      • To avoid rust film, it is important to seal the surface with a thin layer of acid-free oil. This should be done before the furniture is used for the first time and then repeated a couple of times a year. In coastal areas, furniture is particularly susceptible to rust film and will therefore require treatment more often to retain its original look.
      • Apply the acid-free oil with a lint-free cloth. Take care not to use too much oil. The best effect is achieved with a very thin layer. Using too much oil can result in the surface feeling greasy.
      • Rust film caused by inadequate maintenance can be removed with the help of an ordinary household stainless steel polish.
      • We recommend cleaning the furniture regularly with a microfibre cloth and soapy water.
    • Storage: We recommend covering your furniture with a furniture cover in autumn and winter for protection. However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the furniture to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation If possible, it is best to store your furniture indoors during winter months to protect it from the elements.

    ROPE:

    • Material: Cane-line Rope is produced by woven polypropylene (PP). The material has a soft surface that provides good support and excellent sitting comfort. Do not pull hard on the material as it can be stretched out of shape. Cane-line Rope is ideal for outdoor use and is UV-resistant.
    • To Clean: Because the product is used outdoors over extended periods of time, regular cleaning with a soft brush and soapy water is important. This ensures the removal of superficial soil and debris, such as leaves, berries, pollen and bird droppings, before they have a chance to build up and become more difficult to remove.

The QuickDryFoam® core also has antibacterial protection, reducing the risk of mold and mildew forming inside and outside the cushion. Due to the recycled nature of this fabric, the shade may vary from lot to lot. Larger slub yarns may run sporadically throughout the fabric – due to minor variations in the granulation process. These slubs are an integrated part of this innovative fabric.
    • To Clean: Because the product is used outdoors over extended periods of time, regular cleaning with a soft brush and soapy water is important. This ensures the removal of superficial dirt and debris, such as leaves, berries, pollen and bird droppings, before they have a chance to build up and become more difficult to remove. It is important to always place your cushions in an upright position when not in use. This ensures optimum drainage, thereby minimizing the risk of mold and mildew. The anti-bacterial protection in the cushion core is most effective with correct drainage of the cushions. Please note that despite the anti-bacterial protection, mildew can still form on the inner and outer covers if the cushion is not properly drained or cleaned In case of food or drink spills, wash the spot immediately with warm soapy water and allow the cushion to dry in an upright position.
    • Stubborn Stains: For stubborn stains or built-up dirt, carefully wash with a recommended stain remover, such as Vanish (Vanish Oxi Action), and/ or a high-pressure cleaner at the moderate setting. • Alternatively, they can be stored on a covered terrace, patio or carport, where they are protected from the elements.
        • Finally, furniture frames can be stored outdoors under a furniture cover.
        • However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the furniture to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation
      • Furniture cushions:
        • It is best to store cushions indoors in a ventilated room.
        • Alternatively, they can be stored in a cushion box on a covered terrace, patio or carport, protecting them from the elements and ensuring proper ventilation.
        • Do not store your cushions on the furniture frames if you live in a moist climate, as this can cause mold and mildew to form on the surface, making spring cleaning more difficult.

    SWIPE:

    • Material: This soft fabric, Cane-line Swipe, is a mixture of six different materials, constructed for indoor use only. It is a mix of 60% cotton, 10% viscose, 10% acrylic, 10% wool, 5% nylon and 5% polyester.
    • To Clean:
      • Food or Drink Stains: Wash the spot carefully and immediately with warm soapy water and allow the cushion to dry.
      • Stubborn stains: The fabric cover can be removed from the cushion and dry cleaned.
      • We would also recommend using an acknowledged cleaning detergent.

    VIRTUE:

    • Material: Cane-line Virtue is a 100% solution dyed fiber material, which, due to the special manufacturing process, means that the color permeates the entire fiber. The fabric has a superior color fastness, making it fade resistant. The color is extremely uniform, and the fabric is both UV resistant and water repellent, as well as resistant to powdery mildew. The fabric ventilates effectively, repelling condensation and moisture.
    • To Clean:
      • In case of stains, we recommend pre-treating the fabric by washing it in warm water with a powerful detergent (e.g. Tide, Persil, Vanish). The fabric can then be washed at 30 degrees and subsequently air dried.
      • It is very important to check the fabric for stains and treat the specific stain before washing, as heat can set the stain, making it difficult to remove. High temperatures in the washing machine or a tumble dryer can cause the fibers to melt together, shrink or become misshapen. Water that is too hot can create permanent creases during the spin cycle
      • THE FABRIC MUST NOT BE CHEMICALLY CLEANED!
    • Storage: We recommend using a cover out of season. However, we recommend covering it with a parasol cover during the winter or prolonged periods when not in use. Be aware of the importance of “lifting” the cover every so often to allow the air to circulate and remove any condensation.

    PAPER YARN:

    • Material: Paper yarn is a durable and resistant material with a soft surface that supports a good sitting comfort. Paper yarn is available in several colors and variants; round and flat yarn, and is only for indoor use. Paper yarn is a natural material and will therefore, over time, patinate naturally and nicely. Avoid pulling the material hard, as it can be stretched out of shape.
    • To Clean:
      • The product requires a minimum of maintenance and can easily be kept clean with a damp, wiped cloth. However, this should not be done too often, as it will affect the material.
      • Use a neutral soap without color and avoid detergent.
    • Stains: Should it occur that colorful liquids such as red wine or fruit juice are wasted on the material, immediately wipe the area gently, so that the color does not penetrate the material.
    • Storage: Products braided with paper yarn are for indoor use only and shall only be stored indoors and should not be exposed to cold or moisture as this may cause discoloration and stains.

    AIR TOUCH:

    • Material: Cane-line AirTouch is a 100% solution-dyed acrylic fabric produced exclusively for Cane-line. During the development of this fabric, the focus has been on a hardy fabric with a nice structure and a softness like the comfortable Sunbrella fabrics. This has resulted in a soft but hardy surface. Cane-line AirTouch cushions come with the Cane-line QuickDry & Airflow system with QuickDryFoam®, which ensures maximum drainage and air circulation. The cushion thus dries faster when it has been exposed to rain and moisture. The QuickDryFoam® also has an antibacterial protection that reduces the risk of fungal and mold formation.
    • To Clean:
      • The product is used outdoors over extended periods of time, regular cleaning with a soft brush and soapy water is important. This ensures the removal of superficial dirt and debris, such as leaves, berries, pollen and bird droppings, before they have a chance to build up and become more difficult to remove.
      • It is important to place your cushions in an upright position when not in use. This ensures optimum drainage, thereby minimizing the risk of mold and mildew. The antibacterial protection in the cushion core is most effective with correct drainage of the cushions.
      • **Please note that despite the antibacterial protection, mildew can still form on the inner and outer covers if the cushion is not properly drained or cleaned**
      • Stains: In case of food or drink spills, wash the spot immediately with warm soapy water and allow the cushion to dry in an upright position.
      • For stubborn stains or built-up dirt: Carefully wash with a recommended stain remover, such as Vanish (Vanish Oxi Action), and/ or a high-pressure cleaner at the moderate setting. It is a good idea to remove the core from the cover and wash and dry them separately. Make sure to clean both sides of the outer cover.**Please note that the cushion cover is machine washable at 30°C**
    • Storage:
      • There are several ways to properly store your furniture in the autumn and winter months for maximum protection and to make spring cleaning easier.
      • Furniture Frames:
        • It is best to store furniture frames indoors.
        • Alternatively, they can be stored on a covered terrace, patio or carport, where they are protected from the elements.
        • Finally, furniture frames can be stored outdoors under a furniture cover. **However, please note that condensation can form under the furniture cover, which can cause mold and mildew. Therefore, make sure to lift the cover away from the furniture to ensure proper air circulation and minimize condensation**

    SELECTED PP:

  • OUTDOOR PILLOWS:

One of the best ways to keep Outdoor pillows looking good and to delay deep or vigorous cleaning is to properly maintain the fabrics. This can be accomplished by simply brushing off dirt before it becomes embedded in the fabrics, wiping up spills as soon as they occur or spot cleaning soon after stains occur.

    • To clean:
      • Brush off any loose dirt.
      • Prepare a cleaning solution of 2 ounces (1/4 cup) mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water (less than 100°F/38°C).
      • Use a sponge or a soft bristle brush to clean.
      • Allow the cleaning solution to soak into the fabric.
      • Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
      • Allow fabric to air dry.

For removable pillow covers, machine wash in cold water (less than 100°F/38°C). Depending on wash load size, use normal amounts of mild laundry soap. Allow fabric to air dry.

    • Spot Cleaning:
      • Apply a light mist of our recommended cleaning solution using a spray bottle.
      • Work the solution into the stain by lightly scrubbing the area with a sponge or very soft bristle brush.
      • Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
      • Blot excess moisture with a clean, soft towel or sponge.
      • Wet-vacuum or blot excess water.
      • Repeat these steps until the stain is removed.
    • Heavy cleaning for stubborn stains and mildew:
      • Outdoor fabrics do not promote mildew growth; however, mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from the fabric.
      • Prepare a solution of 1 ounce (1/8 cup) of bleach and 2 ounces (1/4 cup) of mild soap per gallon of clean water.
      • Spray on the entire area and allow to soak into the fabric. Scrub vigorously with a soft bristle brush, sponge, or clean towel.
      • Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
      • Allow fabric to air dry.
      • If stain and/or mildew are severe, bleach quantities may be increased.
    • Re-treating the fabric for ease of cleaning:
      • Outdoor fabrics have a special finish that enhances water repellency. The finish is designed to last for several years of normal use but may be refreshed after a thorough cleaning or extended use.
      • We recommend 303 High Tech Fabric Guard™ as the preferred re-treatment product for Outdoor fabrics
      • Applying 303 High Tech Fabric Guard:
        • 303 should be applied to Outdoor fabrics after each thorough cleaning, which typically removes the original finish and reduces the fabric’s water repellency. Clean Outdoor fabric, using one of the cleaning methods: Allow Outdoor fabric to completely air dry.
        • Apply 303 Fabric Guard in a well-ventilated area following instructions on the container.
        • Apply 303 in a thin, even coat and allow fabric to dry completely.
        • Apply a second thin, even coating of 303. (Two light coatings are more effective in restoring fabric water resistance than a single heavy coating. A 15-ounce bottle provides coverage of up to 50 square feet of fabric.)

For more information, please visit www.303products.com

    • Professional Cleaners: Professional cleaners In evaluating the services of a professional firm, you should inquire about the firm’s experience in working with Outdoor fabrics and knowledge of cleaning and re-treatment requirements. DO NOT dry clean Outdoor fabrics.
    **Helpful hints**
    • Protect the area around your Outdoor fabric when using a bleach solution – bleach may discolor non-Outdoor fabrics.
    • Always rinse Outdoor fabrics thoroughly to completely remove bleach.
    • Outdoor fabric air-dries very quickly.
    • Machine drying is not necessary.
    • If fabric has some wrinkling, use an iron, if necessary, but only on the synthetic* setting. As some irons exceed the recommended 100°F/38°C temperature on the synthetic setting, test a small inconspicuous area before ironing the entire piece.
    • DO NOT use a steamer or iron set to steam setting.

  • TEAK

    Natural Teak & Brushed Teak:

Teak is the protagonist of the main collections proposed by Ethimo and its use can be justified by its excellent properties in terms of durability, hardiness, and aesthetic appeal. These three factors make it an ideal material for the production of high-end outdoor furniture that is constantly exposed to temperature changes, water, humidity, and saltwater. Once cut and matured, teak wood is honey-coloured. However, over time, the oxidation caused by the air, water and light will tend to make it lighter and greyer, giving it its typical “aged“ look. In this case, the color change is not a problem related to the quality of the wood, its duration or resistance, but simply a natural aesthetic variation.

    • To Clean: To keep the teak furniture in the best condition, it is recommended to wash it often with water to remove dirt and impurities from the surface.
    • Stains on the surface: It is advisable to clean the dry material with a soft sponge and cleanse with mild soap diluted in water.
    • Protection: In case you want to protect the surface of teak from natural wear, avoiding stains and dirt, it is possible to treat the material with a protective product that will darken it slightly, creating a protective film. Ethimo provides a specific kit for cleaning and protection.

    Pickled Teak

To give teak vintage charm, it is“pickled”, in other words, it is firstly brushed to give the surface a rougher older appearance, and remove the natural oily coating. It is then tinted. For the “gray” pickled finish, after being brushed, the teak is treated to give it a silvery-gray coating with an antique effect

    • To Clean:The finish of pickled teak is also an effective protection for wood, which will therefore be less prone to staining. Over time, however, even pickled teak will tend to whiten due to exposure to light. In this case it is possible to restore the original effect through the treatment with the appropriate recovery kit.

    PAINTED MAHOGANY:

As for painted wooden furniture, Ethimo chooses mahogany wood coming from regulated Indonesian plantations. Mahogany is a very durable hardwood, extremely suitable for outdoor use, also commonly used in boat building. After drying and before painting, the wood is treated with a sealant which closes the pores making it waterproof. The paints used are weather resistant and weatherproof, guaranteed by a special procedure for fixing the color

    • To Clean: In the case of painted mahogany furniture, it is necessary to take care of the surfaces avoiding scratches and scrapes. For the cleaning of surfaces, it is advisable to use only mild soap and water, absolutely avoiding sponges, aggressive detergents and abrasive agents.
    • To restore the peeling surfaces, the corresponding touch-up paint is available.

    ALUMINUM:

Aluminum is a non-ferrous metal that combines high mechanical strength with a lightweight nature and is therefore particularly suitable for manufacturing furniture. Provided it is treated correctly, it offers good resistance to corrosion. Aluminum is colored using powder coating: after chemical pre-treatment, a coloured epoxy powder is applied and baked in the oven at high temperatures. The resulting benefits are ease of cleaning and the endless possibilities in terms of color finishes.

    • To Clean: Like with steel, aluminum is extremely hard wearing and durable and does not require any special maintenance. It can be cleaned using a non-abrasive sponge or soft cloth, water and a non -corrosive detergent. Do not use abrasive sponges or aggressive products under any circumstances.

It is advisable not to leave plastic materials directly in contact with metal surfaces. The plastic could chemically alter the paint on the surface of the piece of furniture.

To repair any scratches, request paint for touch-ups.

    STAINLESS STEEL:

Steel is an alloy of iron and carbon, with a carbon content of less than 2%. Steel has properties that vary depending on the chemical composition (quantity of carbon and quantity of other alloying elements), the thermosetting treatments and the production process. In order to ensure resistance to rust, Ethimo steel is subjected to a complex corrosion- protection and painting treatment. Thermosetting epoxy powders enriched with scratch proof material (Teflon) are used for painting. UV resistance is guaranteed for 10 years.

    • To Clean: The metal is extremely hard wearing and durable and does not require any special maintenance. It can be cleaned using a non -abrasive sponge or soft cloth, water and a non-corrosive detergent. Do not use abrasive sponges or aggressive products under any circumstances as these could damage the surface and compromise the rust-resistant layer.

It is advisable not to leave plastic materials directly in contact with metal surfaces. The plastic could chemically alter the paint on the surface of the piece of furniture.

To repair any scratches, request paint for touch-ups.

    STONES

Ethimo uses natural stone, such as statuary marble and lava stone. The marble is given a treatment to protect its surface that leaves it with a matte finish.

Lava stone, enameled in emerald green, may vary in color and show occasional irregularities. These are traits characteristic of both the natural stone and the artisan finish. After specific treatment, surfaces in marble and enameled lava stone ensure exceptional hygiene, resistance to atmospheric (2) agents, staining, scratching and low water absorption. They are also highly resistant to wear and tear and differences in temperature

    • To Clean: We recommend washing the surface with a non-abrasive sponge and neutral soap.

    ROPES

The ropes used in the Ethimo collections are made specially for outdoor use and made in synthetic material that is highly resistant to UV rays, abrasion and atmospheric events. They are different in their cross-section (flat and round) and composition (polypropylene for the Flat Rope, acrylic for the Round Rope), and are used to create extremely practical and comfortable woven chairs and chair-backs.

    • To Clean: To clean the dirt and dust that may creep in between the rope weave, simply wash the furniture with pressurized water and allow it to dry thoroughly. Avoid covering the cabinet when it is still wet.

    KILT CHAIR:

    T1 Teak:

Ethimo teak comes from controlled forest plantations in Thailand and Indonesia. The result is an excellent, high quality material, ideal for outdoor furniture. It is particularly resistant to changes in temperature, water, humidity and saltwater.

The teak wood, after cutting and maturing, is honey- colored. However, the oxidation caused by air, water and light will tend to make it clearer and more gray over time, giving it the typical "aged" effect. In this case, it is not a matter of quality of the wood, of its durability or resistance, but it is only due to a natural aesthetic change.

    • To Clean:
      • To keep the teak furniture in the best condition, it is recommended to wash it often with water to remove dirt and impurities from the surface.
      • In the case of stains on the surface, it is advisable to clean the dry material with a soft sponge and cleanse with mild soap diluted in water.
      • In case you want to protect the surface of teak from natural wear, avoiding stains and dirt, it is possible to treat the material with a protective product that will darken it slightly, creating a protective film. Ethimo provides a specific kit for cleaning and protection.

  • TEAK

    Material Properties:

Indoors or outdoors, GIATI Teak Furniture can be enjoyed with little maintenance. However, a simple care and maintenance program is strongly recommended. Teak furniture will age more gracefully when properly maintained.

Natural Teak Finish (For Outdoor Use):

    • Expectations for Color Change: Over time, as your natural teak furniture is exposed to the elements, it will undergo a gradual color transformation from the honey color of new teak to the rich, silver-gray patina which distinguishes finely aged, outdoor teak. Depending on your specific environment, natural graying and/or weathering may be noticeable after only a few weeks or a few months. In drier climates, where the weather is more stable, your teak will weather gently. Expect the color to slowly fade, with some discoloration as the teak is exposed to infrequent moisture. In most climates, where the furniture is subjected to regular dewfalls and sunshine, the teak will weather more rapidly. Expect frequent water spots and discoloration when the weather is consistently moist or wet. Do not be alarmed; this condition can be easily washed away with soap, water and household bleach. If left unattended, the discolored areas will substantially disappear. In time, the overall color of your teak will become more uniform.
    • Speeding up the Process: If you prefer, you may hasten the weathered appearance of your furniture and more quickly achieve a uniform, bone-white patina by washing your teak with a bleach and water solution using a 50/50 mix of household bleach and water.
      • Wet all wood surfaces with the solution and let stand for 10-15 minutes.
      • Rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
      • Do not allow the bleach to dry on the wood.
      • At first, your solution will darken the teak and you will notice mildew spots or other stains lightening. When your furniture appears somewhat uniform in tone, begin the fresh water rinse.
      • Afterwards, the furniture will dry quickly and lighten to a more uniform, bone-white patina.
    • During the weathering process, it is our recommendation that all cushions be removed from the furniture when it is wet, or not in use. Please reference the section on Cushion Care at the end of this document.
    • Maintaining A Smooth Finish: After the first few exposures to water, expect the surface grain to rise slightly. This is a natural occurrence. Rest assured that your GIATI furniture has been wet sanded (a unique, proprietary technique), which will significantly limit surface grain roughness. A cleaning with a soft-bristled brush (or sponge), soap and water will allow the wood to return to a condition similar to its original, smooth finish.
    • To Clean: For routine, light maintenance when your furniture looks dirty or has water spots:
      • Clean with soap and water using a wet cloth.
      • Rinse your cloth and repeat as necessary. Some water or other spotting may remain.
      • To thoroughly clean your furniture, GIATI recommends a 3:1 solution of laundry detergent or dishwashing soap and household bleach: three parts soapy water to one part bleach.
      • Using a soft-bristled brush, wet and lightly scrub the entire piece.
      • Do not allow the solution to dry on the furniture.
      • After cleaning, thoroughly rinse your furniture with fresh water. This process will remove surface dirt and pollution, kill mildew (known to grow on almost anything), remove or lighten most black mildew spots should they occur, and allow the silver-gray patina to develop more evenly. This will also remove most raised wood grain fibers, returning your furniture to a feel similar to its original smoothness.
      • After about a year and the first few cleanings, you can switch to a bleach and water-only solution without any scrubbing.
      • If nothing else, periodically hose off your outdoor furniture with plenty of fresh water and allow it to dry in the sun.
    • Protective UV Inhibitor (For Outdoor Use):

This finish will aid in prolonging the honey color of your teak outdoors while adding some stain resistance. However, it is not a permanent solution! Over time, the elements will break down the finish and natural “weathering” will occur. (Please refer to the section on Natural Teak for weathering expectations.) If you want to prolong the honey color, you will need to reapply the finish BEFORE it begins to show signs of weathering. (Protective UV Inhibitor will not restore lost color.) Applying UV Inhibitor is relatively easy and re-application can be done by a non-professional. This process is time-consuming and strict adherence to directions is necessary. The challenge is one of timing and the condition of the finish prior to reapplication. Our experience and recommendation is that you enlist the help of a professional in order to achieve the desired results, thereby avoiding disappointment or other problems. GIATI will be happy to provide recommendations for purchasing the correct products
    • Driftwood Teak Finish (For Outdoor Use):

Our classic Driftwood Finish instantly provides a look similar to that of teak, which has weathered naturally over a period of time. Please note that this is a “decorative” and not a “protective” finish. When placed outdoors and exposed to the elements, your teak will eventually weather and develop a new patina. As the elements break down the decorative Driftwood Finish, natural graying and weathering of the wood will occur. The newly “weathered” patina will gradually replace the Driftwood Finish. A light wetting with a bleach and water solution followed by a fresh water rinse will help to even out any discoloration during the transition period.
    • Natural Teak Finish (For Outdoor Use):

Natural teak will stain or darken when exposed to food oils and most liquids. Therefore we strongly recommend that your teak be protected from foodstuffs when used in dining areas. In “non-food” areas and with a little care, GIATI teak will maintain its incredible smoothness, natural beauty, and rich color for years to come.
      • Spilled Water or Stains: Once the wood has dried, the mark can be easily removed.
      • A light rubbing with a very fine Scotch Brite ® pad or #40 steel wool will usually remove dried water spots or light stains.
      • Lightly dust off the area after rubbing with either item.
      • Both items are available at most hardware stores.

      • If you use steel wool, do not use water as it will react with the steel wool and wood and create dark stains
    • Over time, with exposure to ambient light, expect your teak furniture to slowly take on a beautiful, golden honey-colored tone.

Oiled Teak (For Indoor Use): With basic care, you can expect your oiled finishes to last beautifully indoors.

    • To enhance the finish: We recommend occasional light re-oiling and cleaning with a product like non-aerosol Lemon Pledge® or any non-building furniture polish.
    • Re-oiling over a waxed surface is not recommended as the oil will likely dry unevenly on the surface.

Oiled teak is much more resistant to staining by food oils than is natural teak. However, reasonable care must still be taken as many foods and liquids will penetrate and stain your furniture. In non-food areas, oiled teak provides a truly beautiful, lasting look and finish.

Cushion Care With Teak Furniture: GIATI’s First European Quality (FEQ) teak naturally contains high amounts of oils and resins. Please refer to the section entitled “Natural Teak Finish (For Outdoor Use)” for expectations as your furniture weathers.

It is normal for some of the natural resins in the teak to leach out when it is exposed to a damp climate or rain. In order to protect the underside of your cushions, we highly recommend removing them when the furniture is damp or wet. Eventually, after exposure to the elements, these resins will stop leaching out, and cushion removal should no longer be so necessary.

Should you happen to leave the cushions on the furniture while wet, a rust-colored stain may appear on the underside. Clean the cushions immediately using a soft brush and a mild soap water solution. If not treated quickly, the stain on the underside or backside of your cushions may prove to be irreversible.

GIATI’s cushions are made of Dri-Fast® Foam, which releases moisture and dries quickly. However, in a heavy or continuous rain your cushions may become saturated.

    • To Dry (More Quickly): Remove them from the furniture and place them upright on their sides in a sunny area. This will allow the water to drain out of the cushion core faster.
    • Environmental Staining: Clean the cushions using a soft brush and a mild soap and water solution.
    • Stubborn stains: Contact GIATI for more specific cleaning suggestions.

CAST ALUMINUM: A regular, simple cleaning program will maximize the longevity of the powder coat finish.

    • To Clean:
      • Loose debris deposits can be removed with a wet sponge.
      • Next, clean with a soft brush and mild household detergent solution.
      • Finish by rinsing with fresh water.

Generally, cleaning every six months is recommended. However, in areas that are near the ocean or exposed to pollutants, cleaning every few months is preferable.

While powder coat finishes are extremely durable, it is possible to chip or scratch them. For this reason, your furniture is shipped with a Care Kit that contains touch-up paint for repairing scratches and chips. Please follow the instructions printed on the front and back of the paint cans.

Spray Paint: We recommend applying several lightweight coats instead of one heavy coat.

Cushion Care with Cast Aluminum Furniture: GIATI’s cushions are made of Dri-Fast® Foam, which releases moisture and dries quickly. However, in a heavy or continuous rain your cushions may become saturated.

    • To dry (More Quickly): Remove them from the furniture and place upright on their sides in a sunny area. This will allow the water to drain out of the cushion core faster.
    • Environmental Staining: Clean the cushions using a soft brush and a mild soap and water solution.
    • Stubborn Stains: Contact GIATI for more specific cleaning suggestions.

    FABRIC

All GIATI acrylic fabrics inherently resist stains and are easy to maintain. They repel both oil-based and water-based liquids. However, they still should be cleaned regularly before any substance becomes embedded in the fabric.

    • To Clean:
      • Warm water and a mild soap applied with a soft brush by hand will easily clean dirt from these dimensionally stable fabrics.
      • Simple Green can also be used on tough spots, such as bird residue.

Bleach is not recommended as it can damage the fabric and reduce water repellency. Damage caused directly from using bleach will void our guarantee, as will washing in a machine or in very hot water. All acrylic fabrics are heat sensitive and can be damaged by ironing or washing in very hot water. Therefore Giati recommends washing only by hand, using cold or lukewarm water.

    • Mildew: Mildew will grow on anything including wood, metal and plastics. No fabric can be mildew proof, but mildew is easily removed if attended to immediately. Acrylic textiles have been used widely in hospitality and residential installations in the Philippines, Hawaii and Florida where mildew is a common nuisance.
    • If mildew is allowed to take over cushions, bleach must be used to eliminate it:
      • Use a bleach solution sparingly: no more than a 1/2 cup (4 oz.) of bleach and a 1/4 cup (2 oz.) of mild soap per 1/2 gallon of water.
      • The fabric should be scrubbed with this solution for no more than 15 minutes and rinsed thoroughly with cold water.
      • If bleach is used, we recommend that you follow up by reapplying the protective finish to your fabric. Please refer to www.303-products.com and select the product called “303 High Tech Fabric Guard”. Instructions for application can be found on the bottle.

    UMBRELLAS:

Market umbrellas have been made in Italy and the South of France for the past century. Over the years, they have been refined and updated. Giati Designs handcrafted umbrellas are considered to be the finest in the world, and are designed to withstand the rigors of exposure to the elements. Following a few simple care and maintenance instructions will ensure that your Giati umbrella will provide enjoyment for years to come.

    Opening/Closing Market Collection Umbrellas:

Our Market Collection umbrella canopies are sewn with a closure tie. We recommend tying it closed every time the umbrella is put down.

    • To open the umbrella without a hoisting system:
      • Gently pull two arms out from the pole until you can reach the lower hub.
      • Push up on the lower hub to raise the umbrella high enough to allow you to place the brass pin in the highest possible hole. The canopy should be stretched taut when the umbrella is fully open. Failure to keep the canopy taut may cause the hubs to chip over time.

    Opening/Closing Next Century Collection Umbrellas:

Our Next Century Collection umbrellas are designed with an “arm locking” hub. When the umbrella is closed tightly, the arms will “lock” in place preventing the umbrella from opening easily.

    • To open the umbrella:
      • Gently pull the arms out from the pole one at a time.
      • When they are all released from the “locked” position, raise the umbrella by pushing up on the lower hub.
      • Push up on the lower hub to raise the umbrella high enough to allow you to place the brass pin in the highest possible hole. The canopy should be stretched taut when the umbrella is fully open.
      • Failure to keep the canopy taut may cause damage to the arms over time.

    Wind Exposure

Umbrellas are much less vulnerable to damage from light breezes when they are fully opened and the canopy is fully stretched. To do this, open the umbrella fully and set the brass pin in the highest hole possible. This will ensure that the arms are allowed very little movement inside the hub sockets. All umbrellas must be fully closed during heavier winds to prevent damage.

    Water Exposure

Giati umbrellas are constructed to withstand water exposure on a regular basis. Our canopies are made from exterior fabrics that are either water repellant, or allow the water to (5)pass through (unless a COM was provided). The end of our umbrella poles are soaked in paraffin to help prevent the pole from absorbing water and swelling. A furniture lift is placed on the end of the pole to provide drying space in the base. Giati umbrella bases are designed with a weep hole to allow water to escape the base tube.

When the umbrella has been dampened or soaked by rain, open the canopy as soon as possible to allow the fabric to dry. If left closed for a period of time while wet, mildew may appear on the canopy and frame. After heavy rains we recommend removing the pole from the base tube to ensure that the tube is dry. Allowing the pole to remain in a wet environment will increase the likelihood of the pole swelling over time.

    • To Clean:
      • To maintain the appearance of your umbrella frame, simply wipe it down with a moist cloth occasionally to remove dust and other environmental debris.

For your canopy, the cleaning instructions depend on what fabric was used.

    • For Giati Fabrics(R):
      • General cleaning can be done simply by spraying the umbrella with clean water from a garden hose.
      • For more direct cleaning: Open the umbrella fully and carefully lean it on its side (resting on the opened arms).
      • Gently scrub the canopy with soapy water and a soft bristle brush.
      • Rinse with clean water from a garden hose.
      • For more specific cleaning needs, please contact Giati for fabric cleaning instructions.
    • Storage: When storing a teak umbrella:
      • Place wax paper between the canopy and the upper arm. This will prevent the natural oils in the teak from staining the canopy while in storage.
      • If possible, all umbrellas should be stored upright.
    • Replacement Parts: Replacement parts are available from Giati Designs. Please contact us at (805) 965-6535.

    PAVILION

Giati Pavilions are produced using high performance technology combined with time honored handcrafting techniques. The result is a resilient, beautiful outdoor living space. By following a few care and maintenance recommendations, your pavilion will provide lasting pleasure.

    • Water Exposure: Giati pavilions are designed to withstand water exposure on a regular basis. The canopy and drapes are made from exterior fabrics that are either water repellant, or allow the water to pass through (unless a COM was provided).
      • After exposure to soaking rains:
        • Open the drapes to allow them to dry as soon as possible. If the fabric remains damp for an extended period of time, mildew may occur.
    • Wind Exposure: Giati pavilions are intended to be securely installed using one of two base options. If your pavilion frame is not anchored in bases, windy gusts may cause the pavilion to shift locations slightly.
      • Please contact Giati Designs at (805) 965- 6535 to purchase pavilion bases if you do not currently own them
      • The pavilion canopy is designed with a wind vent to allow gusts of wind to escape. These wind vents separate from the main canopy and let the wind blow out freely.
      • In Heavier Winds:
        • The drapes must be tied back to prevent movement.
    • If you do not anticipate using your pavilion during the winter months, we recommend removing the drapes and canopy and storing them until milder weather returns.
    • To Clean:
      • Wipe it down with a moist cloth occasionally to remove dust and other environmental debris.
      • For your canopy, the cleaning instructions depend on what fabric was used.

      • Cleaning may only be done with a soft, dry cloth.
      • Do not use any abrasive cloth.
      • Do not use detergents. Using a high pressure and/or steam cleaner is prohibited.
      • Cleaning is only permitted once the DOME has completely cooled down.
      • Noncompliance with these rules may compromise the safety of the device.

Heatsail will not be held responsible for damage resulting from noncompliance with the cleaning instructions.

    • Replacing the bulb: Your DOME is supplied with an R7S 240V/120 watt (78mm) halogen bulb as standard.
      • The maximum permitted output power of the bulb is 120 watts.
      • The electrical supply must be disconnected via the installation’s breaker switch before the bulb can be replaced.
      • Replace the bulb by carefully sliding the glass upwards. Use a tool (like a screwdriver) to hold up the glass.
      • The bulb is held in place by a spring. Remove the bulb by first pushing it to the left or right and thereby releasing it from its socket.
      • Replace the bulb and reverse previous steps.

Please note: Be careful never to touch the halogen bulb with bare fingers, as oils from skin will significantly reduce bulb life.

    INSPECTION:

    • The DOME must be subjected to an annual inspection.
    • The user is not authorized to carry out his own inspections and repairs. Inspection of the DOME must exclusively be carried out by qualified and authorized technicians, in accordance with Heatsail’s applicable standards and Regulations. “Qualified technicians” are understood to mean: qualified electricians who are familiar with the applicable electrical laws and regulations in accordance with the requirements of NFPA 70 and OSHA Regulations 29 CFR 1910.304(b)(2).

TEAK WOOD (Domino, Mariposa, Tru Pure, Arches/Les Arcs, Serene/Synthesis, Flow, Welcome Teak, Welcome Weave, & Tweed Collections):

    Material Facts:

Teak is a hardwood traditionally found in South East Asia, although tree plantations are now located in different tropical climates worldwide. Our commitment to the environment ensures that only sustainably managed wood is used in our furniture. See more on the source of our wood in our PDF brochure. Harvesting and drying processes vary greatly in the outdoor teak market - we use only the highest quality. Our teak is properly matured wood where oil content is at its peak and kiln dried to strengthen the wood for long-term use.

    Outdoor Use:

Teak is ideal for outdoor use - it has a naturally high oil content (to resist cracking or splintering) and although a hardwood, is not too heavy for practical use. Left unfinished (standard for all Henry Hall orders), sunlight and air will oxidize the top layer of the wood to turn to a silver-gray patina. To protect the original “honey color” of teak wood outdoors, a teak sealer must be applied, and reapplied every 6 to 12 months, depending on weather conditions - see more in our “Sealing/Finishing Teakwood” PDF brochure. In the outdoors, all wood will undergo a “breathing” process, which will expand the wood grain, in some areas causing fine cracks or rough patches. This process will smooth out over time and in no way affects the durability of the furniture.

    Regular Cleaning:

When furniture first arrives, dust with damp cloth to remove “teak dust”. It is advised for the first three months that cushions be removed as often as possible, as the natural oils reach the surface layer of the wood and can stain cushions. Every 6 to 12 months, scrub furniture with a soft bristle brush, using mild soap (such as natural liquid dish detergent) and rinse with fresh water, to prevent build up of mildew feeding on the wood’s natural oils. Teak can be “watered” often using fresh water to help the weathering process develop more evenly. See PDF brochure for more information on removing deep stains or to fully restore the original color of wood.

If furniture is covered, use only an appropriate “breathable” cover for teak wood. Henry Hall Designs sells covers for our furniture - please inquire.

The table top is resistant to most stains, but it is advised to clean the top immediately after spills.

    • To clean:
      • Simply wash with a mild natural soap (such as liquid dish detergent) and freshwater, using a cloth.
      • Wipe to dry. As usual, test any product you use in a small area first. Also be sure to maintain regular cleaning on the stainless steel frame (see “Stainless Steel” section).

POWDER COATED ALUMINUM (Domino, Welcome Weave, & Teak Collections):

    Material Facts:

All the items have a powder coating aluminum frame.

    • Regular Cleaning: To keep the product in good condition we recommend regular cleaning, particularly frequent in places characterized by high humidity and marine climate. We recommend cleaning the surfaces with a soft cloth using water or neutral detergents. Prolonged and uninterrupted exposures to intense UVradiation or at very low temperatures can affect the initial characteristics of the colored polyester coating. We recommend cleaning and storing products in sheltered areas during long periods of non- use and winter.

    WAPROLACE® (Serene/Synthesis Collections):

Material Facts: WaProLace® is a high-quality synthetic and weatherproof fiber hand-woven on Teak frame. Its name comes from the combination of the words “waterproof” and “lace”. Tested in qualified laboratories, three years of constant exposure to atmospheric agents and UV rays, without any color alteration. Resistant to any chloride solution, like salted or chlorinated water, and ingredients most common in suntan creams and oils.

Outdoor Use: Resistant to temperatures from -70°C to + 80°C. Entirely made of polyethylene, it is 100% recyclable and, in case of combustion, does not produce toxic substances.

Regular Cleaning: Use natural soaps or detergents

    TEMPOTEST (Arches/ Les Arcs Collection):

Material Facts: Tempotest is specifically designed for outdoor use. It is a mold resistant, soil resistant, oil and water-repellent with Teflon finishing material on an aluminum frame. Composed of 100% solution dyed outdoor acrylic fiber

    Regular Care & Cleaning:

    • Use natural soaps or detergents and a sponge.
    • Rinse with fresh water.
    • Do not clean using any type of abrasive agent or scouring pad.

    ZINC PLATED ALUMINIUM (Flow Collection):

Material Facts: The frames used in the Flow collection are made of solid sand cast aluminum. The frames are then coated with a zinc plating. The zinc plating results in a beautiful patina finish, and also adds an extra layer of protection against extreme conditions. The zinc plate patina will darken slightly over time.

Outdoor Use: The cast aluminum is the same high quality used in Honda engines, and can take any and all of the elements. Because the frames are aluminum, they will not rust. The hardware is steel and has been finished in a black protective powder coat. These parts are in very discreet areas, and will retain strength even if some discoloration occurs.

    To clean:

    • Wash with natural-based soap and a sponge or soft brush.
    • Rinse with fresh water.

We recommend that furniture be cleaned at least on a yearly basis. Do not clean using any type of abrasive agent or scouring pad, which will wear through the zinc plate patina.

    STAINLESS STEEL FRAMES (Tweed Collection):

Material Facts: Henry Hall Designs uses Electropolished AISI 304L Stainless Steel in the Tweed collection.

Outdoor Use: Stainless steel is a great choice for those looking for durable and stylish furniture that holds up to frequent cleanings. Our metal frames are designed for outdoor use and are treated with a protective layer to provide a high level of resistance to rust. All frames are exclusively offered in “electropolished” finish - a treatment which adds further weather resistant qualities to the steel and a simultaneous smoothing and brightening of the metal surface. However, many people are surprised to learn that all stainless steel can be “stained” in certain environments! If you have any questions about the specifics of your environment, please contact our office and we would be happy to assist in your selection.

In general, we highlight three areas of use and care:

    • Standard Cleaning: Furniture that is used inland with little or no direct exposure to salt water or chlorinated water. A monthly cleaning is required to remove natural deposits (such as salt or dirt), which can damage the frame and lead to deterioration.
      • Using fresh water only, simply spray the frames down thoroughly, at a high hose pressure.
      • Dry with a cloth to avoid water spots.
      • Residential warranty applies to this environment
    • Volatile Environments Cleaning: Furniture that is used in (A) windy coastal areas (but not directly on the coast) with blowing sand and salt water particles in the air or; (B) exposed directly to chlorinated water (i.e. regularly splashed from a pool or enclosed heated pools where chlorine can hang in the air.) A regular weekly cleaning as described above is required to maintain ideal frame condition.
      • Residential warranty applies to this environment
    • Coastal Waterfront Cleaning: Furniture that is used directly on the coast. Special consideration should be used when selecting stainless steel - regular cleanings cannot be overlooked. In these environments a weekly cleaning is required (as described above) and it is advisable to often use a sponge and mild soap (such as natural liquid dish detergent) to more thoroughly clean off any deposits.
      • We do not offer a residential warranty against rust for frames used in this environment

For deeper cleaning, please refer to our full PDF brochure for details.

Never use industrial pressure washers, abrasive products, or cleaners with bleach or chlorine when cleaning any type of stainless steel

    OLEFIN WEAVE (Welcome Weave Collection):

The Welcome collection is produced with hand woven 100% polyolefin rope in a light gray color. The polypropylene yarn is suitable for outdoor use. Not only is it extremely soft, but also resistant to sunlight, fungi and bacteria. The yarn is produced with non-toxic and hypoallergenic materials. It resists sunlight, salt, chlorine, acids, sunscreens, sweat and stains and has a long outdoor life. Washable at 104°, does not fade and does not stretch. It is 100% RECYCLABLE and energy consumption for the production is less than any other synthetic fiber, from which a considerable environmental advantage derives. The Olefin Weave certified is OEKO - TEX Stand 100.

    FABRIC (Domino Collection):

It is recommended to clean with a neutral product and a non-abrasive cloth. Cushions have removable covers, are easy to wash and are weather resistant. They contain quick dry foam padding. The fabric is coated with a waterproof treatment and is resistant to UV rays. Fire retardant certification BS EV 1021-1-BS EN1021-2. You can safely launder both fabrics in a washing machine. (4) Initial water temperature should not exceed 40oC.

    • Do not dry clean.
    • Do not use an electric dryer.
    • Do not iron

    CUSHIONS:

Henry Hall Designs custom makes cushions to perfectly fit each item in our collection. Unless otherwise specified in writing, cushions will be manufactured following the standard outlines, as stated next to the cushion description for each item in this price list.

COM yardage requirements are estimates based on 54” wide, solid color fabric. Please double check on fabric yardage if using a pattern or stripe fabric.

**Note: We do not accept awning weight fabric for cushion construction and we maintain the right to refuse any fabric for cushion construction or charge an upcharge to work with unusual fabrics. If in doubt of usability, please send a sample in advance for review**

Please ship all COM yardage to:

    • Henry Hall Designs, 833 MAHLER STREET SUITE 2, BURLINGAME, CA 94010 Tel: 650.239.9530. Henry Hall Designs’ order number (i.e. “040513C”) must be marked on the packing slip along with any side mark or tag references to ensure accurate and timely fabrication.

    Cushion Fill Facts:

Henry Hall cushions are filled with a standard, medium density, hypo-allergenic polyurethane foam. A Dacron® wrap is then covered around the foam interior. Our cushions are meant to be taken indoors or covered during wet weather. If you live in an area of unpredictably rainy weather, or simply do not want to regularly store cushions when not in use, you can specify Flow-Through foam for your cushions. Additional material specifications on Flow-Through foam can be provided upon request. However, please note that even cushions constructed of Flow-Through foam will have a longer lifespan if they are stored indoors when possible. Please note that no foam, not even Flow-Through foam, is completely mildew resistant. If furniture is covered, use only an appropriate “breathable” cover. Note: protective covers are available for purchase. Please Inquire

    • Clean: When cushions first arrive, make sure to wipe down furniture before putting cushions on. We recommend covering cushions or taking them indoors when not in use, and certainly during wet weather. This is especially true during initial weathering of new teak furniture when oils will leach out of the wood in damp conditions. As such, it is advised to keep cushions off of teak furniture when not in use especially during the first three months. To prolong the new look of cushions, we recommended that you regularly (once every 1-2 months) brush off dirt to prevent it from settling deep in the fabric, as mildew may grow on dirt and other deposits on the fabric. Depending on what kind of fabric that you use, consult with the fabric manufacturer to find out what they recommend for general cleaning.
      • In most cases, simply scrub off dirt using a soft bristle brush with fresh water mixed with a small amount of natural soap. Do not soak the cushion thoroughly, just enough to get the surface dirt off. If the cushion does get soaked thoroughly, due to cleaning or rainy weather, unzip the cover and dry thoroughly in an open air environment. Remove foam insert for more efficient drying. Drying time may require several days, depending on wetness of cushion, environmental factors, and the type of foam selected for your cushions. Large sofa pieces, such as Mariposa and Pure Sofa are prone to taking a long time to dry out because of the size of the cushion. The best way to avoid a long drying out time is to keep cushions in a dry storage area.

Jensen Outdoor is proud to provide the highest-quality Ipe wood furniture available on the market today. Ipe wood, a natural material, is durable and easy to care for

Ipe (pronounced “EE-pay”) is a hardwood timber prized for its beauty and long-lasting durability in any environment. Ipe timber exhibits a deep chocolate-brown grain when new that may be allowed to naturally age to an elegant silver patina or brought back to an ‘as new’ finish at any time. Jensen Outdoor’s Ipe furniture comes pre-stained with Penofin® Verde Oil Finish which protects and conditions the wood to prevent absorption of moisture. Although Ipe is naturally stable, small checks in the surface (minuscule openings of the wood grain at the ends) may appear if the furniture is placed in a very dry or sunny environment. Superficial checking is a natural occurrence resulting from moisture loss and in no way affects the structural integrity and longevity of the furniture, and will in fact disappear when the environment becomes moist. Read the following instructions to learn how to protect, clean, restore, and revive your Ipe wood furniture.

    • Protection:

In a ventilated area, apply Wood Shield to all clean Ipe surfaces to further protect against water and food stains, then enjoy your new set outside.
    • Spills, Stains, Dust, & Dirt:

Wash your Ipe wood surfaces with a soft towel and mild dish soap, then rinse clean with water. Once complete, allow to dry.
    • Color Restoration:

While many appreciate the refined silver patina that Ipe wood develops over time, your furniture can easily be restored to an ‘as new’ finish at any time.
      • Restore as New -
        • To prepare Ipe for a UV-protective coat of Penofin® Verde Oil Finish, use Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Cleaner to remove surface dirt, then rinse off with water.
        • To brighten and re-establish the pH balance of Ipe wood to best accept the Penofin® Verde Oil finish, use Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Brightener, then rinse off with water and allow to dry completely.
        • Apply Penofin® Verde Oil Finish as directed on the can, letting it penetrate for 30 minutes.
        • To remove excess oil finish that hasn’t been absorbed by the wood, rub the Ipe surface with smooth rags until dry to the touch. Dispose of rags in a metal bucket of water to avoid spontaneous combustion.
        • After completely dry, apply Wood Shield to timber to provide additional protection against water and food stains.
    • Ipe Troubleshooting (Finish & Stain Buildup):

If Ipe Furniture has an Inappropriate finish or excessive stain buildup - Ipe furniture is meant to last for many years, however, during that long life an inappropriate paint or stain may be applied. If your Ipe furniture needs to be stripped and restored to the ‘as new’ finish, follow these steps:
      • Apply Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Stripper to a clean dry surface, following directions on the can.
      • Apply Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Cleaner and then allow it to dry.
      • Apply Penofin® Pro-Tech Wood Brightener and then allow it to dry.
      • Apply Penofin® Verde Oil Finish and allow it to dry.
      • For the final protective coating, apply Ipe Wood Shield and allow it to dry. Then enjoy your furniture ‘as new’ for an entire season.
    • Winter Storage:

Ipe furniture withstands the cold temperatures of winter just fine. You can leave your furniture uncovered outdoors and simply restore to an ‘as new’ finish with the steps above when the weather warms again. See cushion care sheet for cushion winter storage tip

Sunbrella® fabrics have become the choice of discerning outdoor designers, discriminating homeowners, and Jensen Outdoor for its luxurious outdoor furniture. Sunbrella® fabrics are the highest-quality decorative fabrics designed for extraordinary performance and long-lasting beauty. Their solution-dyed acrylic fibers are colored all the way through allowing for rich, vivid colors that withstand weather, water, fading, dulling and the test of time.

    • Protection:

Fabric Protector makes cushion fabric repellent to water and dirt and inhibits the growth of mold and mildew while assisting in the prevention of stains.
      • In a ventilated area, apply Fabric Protector to all dry and clean Sunbrella® fabric surfaces until soaked
      • Let dry completely.
      • Reapply to clean surfaces 1x per year or after cleaning.
    • Pollens & Stains:

The best and simplest way to preserve the beauty, comfort and performance of Sunbrella® fabric is by brushing off any dirt before it gets entrenched, as well as by cleaning up any spills or stains with soap and water shortly after they occur when they are easiest to remove. To keep your Sunbrella® fabric looking good and lasting longer, follow these simple guidelines:
      • Hand Wash -
        • Moisten fabric surfaces with a sponge or wet towel then spray a light mist of Fabric Cleaner over the entire surface of the fabric.
        • Use a sponge or a clean towel to gently break up any stains.
        • Rinse fabric completely to remove all soapy residue.
        • Let fabric air dry completely.
      • ALTERNATIVELY: You can prepare a cleaning solution of ¼ cup mild soap per gallon of warm water and place the cleaning solution into a spray bottle
      • Machine Wash -CAUTION: Although Sunbrella® fabrics machine wash just fine, we recommend that you hand wash your outdoor cushions due to the fitted nature of the fabric to the cushion and difficulty most have with re-covering the cushions, unless experienced in the process.
        • Begin by removing the Sunbrella® fabric covers off of the cushions and then making sure to close all zippers.
        • Machine wash in cold water on the delicate cycle with a regular amount of mild laundry detergent.
        • Let fabric air dry completely. DO NOT dry in an automatic dryer.
    • Though Stains:

      • Mold and Mildew - While Sunbrella® fabrics do not naturally promote the growth of mildew, please be aware that mildew may grow on any dirt or unfamiliar substances that collect on the fabric and are not promptly removed.
        • Create a cleaning solution of ¼ cup dishwashing liquid and 1 cup bleach per gallon of water. For severe mold or mildew growth, the amount of bleach may be increased.
        • Pour the cleaning solution into a spray bottle. Spray the entire surface area, as it is best to clean the complete surface of the fabric to prevent any water rings or stains from forming.
        • Let the cleaning solution penetrate into the fabric for 15 minutes.
        • Clean the complete area with a clean towel, a sponge or a very soft-bristled brush.
        • Rinse the area well with water to eliminate any soapy residue.
        • Let fabric air dry completely.
      • Bird Droppings, Coffee, Tea, Cola, Ketchup or Mustard Stains -
        • Create a cleaning solution of ¼ cup dishwashing liquid and 1 cup bleach per gallon of water.
        • Proceed with cleaning directions for Handwashing.
      • Removing Wine Stains -
        • Create a cleaning solution of ¼ cup dishwashing liquid, ⅓ cup white vinegar and ½ - 1 cup hydrogen peroxide or isopropyl alcohol per gallon of water.
        • Proceed with cleaning directions for Handwashing.
      • Removing Beer, Food Color, Vomit or Urine Stains -
        • Create a cleaning solution of ¼ cup dishwashing liquid and ⅓ white vinegar per gallon of water.
        • Proceed with cleaning directions for Handwashing.
      • Removing Blood Stains -
        • Create a cleaning solution of ¼ cup dishwashing liquid and ½ -1 cup ammonia per gallon of water.
        • Proceed with cleaning directions for Handwashing.
        • Clean any remaining with dishwashing liquid and water.
      • Butter, Oil, Grease, Salad Dressing, Suntan Lotion or Paint Stains -
        • Apply cornstarch onto the stain as an absorbent.

  • ALUMINIUM ELECTRO-PAINT:

Aluminum is one of the most corrosion-resistant metals in existence. Kettal selects and continuously controls its raw material aluminum in regard to chemical composition, hardness and elasticity through stress, bending and temperature tests. Once selected, the aluminum is painted with polyester powder (used in the automobile industry) applied electrostatically. This finishing process lends superior surface quality and weather resistance.

    TEAK:

The teak used in Kettal products is obtained by selecting the best trunks from sustainably managed plantations controlled by Perhutani. Only the most appropriate trees are selected, one by one. The area used is the central part of the trunk, as it is the straightest and free of branches. From this painstaking selection process we obtain our teak, one of the finest in the world. The wood is planed to give it a more natural feel, and a sealant is applied. All Kettal teak products are provided with a waterproof sealant, which should be applied every three months

**Note: Being a natural material, teak may change color or even crack due to humidity levels and sudden changes in temperature. Left outdoors, teak undergoes a natural process of oxidation that affects its color, which turns an attractive silver-gray shade**

Teak furniture is treated with a waterproof sealant to protect it from damp and stains (as long as they are cleaned immediately); however, this sealant naturally wears off over time. We recommend treating the wood with sealant every three months, more frequently in the case of hotel and catering establishments. To restore the original appearance of teak, sand all over and apply teak sealant

    OAK:

Oak selection as a material for Kettal is due to the optimal characteristics of this type of wood. It's one of the strongest and long lasting woods in the market. The oak wood is very attractive since it has a beautiful light grain natural color and the smoothest feeling when touched. In fact it is a highly resistant material due to its antifungal properties. Our oak is provided from a sustainable source, using naturally fallen trunks. Even though oak wood is very durable, the tree lifespan is short, making this process completely sustainable.

    MARBLE:

Kettal Marble is light and strong, thanks to its technical structure, a combination of marble, aluminum honeycomb and fiberglass. It is a natural matte carbonate stone from the metamorphosed limestone family that is outstanding for its compact texture and fine crystalline structure.

    STONE:

Travertine marble is a hard natural stone, very sturdy in terms of outdoor use, with uneven coloration and a polished finish.

    CEMENT:

Architectural concrete made out of concrete resin. This material provides an aesthetic finish, which allows us to find the exact smoothness and color we require for our collection. Most importantly not losing the properties of concrete, which gives the architectural feeling to the product.

    CEPPO DI GRES:

Ceppo di gre is a typical Italian stone which its origin comes from the mountains of Lombard, it is recognized by its elegance and exclusivity featured by its large pebbles. We provided a Gres finish, since we get the beauty of the material combined with the properties of Gres, including skid resistance and high performance. The Ceppo di Gres is an ideal option for exterior usage.

    GLAZE:

It is a painting finish developed and used exclusively by KETTAL. The concept is to apply a finishing which visually looks like ceramics, but with a strong technical development that allows it to be applied to aluminum top tables. This allows us to have the warm feeling of ceramics with the durability and quality of aluminum coatings.

    MASS DYED ACRYLIC FABRIC:

Unlike surface-dyed fabrics, the fabric color is impregnated into the fiber during manufacture, providing exceptional resistance to wear and tear caused by chlorinated and salt water, sunlight and moonlight. These fabrics receive water-resistant treatment.

    ANTI-UV SYNTHETIC FIBER:

The material used is high-density polyethylene with UV inhibitors and is one of the most suitable materials for outdoor use. To guarantee perfect quality, Kettal uses a mass-dyed fiber (for colorfastness) of a density higher than market standard.

    PARALLEL FABRIC:

A fabric with high-strength polyester yarn, covered with PVC, with wefts that may vary in accordance with each need. Porotex from Kettal can be used for seats and backrests stretched over aluminum structures and for cushions. Foam-filled Textilene cushions are completely suited to the outdoors thanks to their permeable capacity: the open plaiting of Textilene and “open” structure of its wadding mean drainage of water from the cushion occurs naturally.

    LEATHER:

Genuine cowhide used in high-wear areas. It has a stain-resistant finish and is easy to clean. One of its key features is its resistance to stains. Thanks to this and many other features, Kettal Leather requires no specific or costly maintenance.

    • To Clean: For everyday maintenance, clean with a soft cloth and warm water. To extend the life of Kettal Leather, we recommend using a neutral non-oily leather care product every six months.
    • Stains: In case of stains, rub gently in circles with a damp cloth from the center of the stain outwards. Dry the treated area with a cloth.
    • Leather is a natural material, which means there may be slight variations in color.

    ROPE:

Cord made of polyester or polypropylene thread and handcrafted, weather-resistant material.

    RATTAN:

It is a natural fiber which comes from palm lianas. It is an extraordinary material, characterized by its flexibility. Its warmness and natural nature gives the furniture a special feeling. It's a material which is recommended to be used in an INDOOR ambiance, if not it can get damaged since natural rattan fiber needs a dry area to maintain its properties.

    RATTAN SYNTHETIC:

Our rattan synthetic fiber is very exclusive due to its similarity to the natural fiber, not only visually but also by its smoothness in touch and texture. It has been designed to have a high durability in outdoor conditions. Its strength and durability can withstand extreme conditions.

  • ALUMINUM:

Made from the alloy 6063, aluminum frames are electrostatically powder coated, and baked in an oven at a very high temperature, forming a solid surface with high UV resistant capacities. Various colors and textures are available and have slightly different specifications (see our color charts for details). Ultra-Durable colors offer higher protection in a chlorine or marine environment, and better UV and scratch resistance, which are the preferred choices for contract use.

    • To clean: Wipe down with a soft brush, soapy cloth, then repeat without soap. In general, smooth surfaces are easier to clean than textured (sand) surfaces.
    • Stains: Stains can be removed by using Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sponge. In all cases, avoid acidic, alcohol or solvent based cleaners, and especially abrasive pads, sand paper or metal brushes. Aluminum frames are subject to abrasive wear that causes damage to the powder-coated surface, especially in sandy or rocky areas, moving or use, or upon contact with hard, sharp or abrasive objects.
    • Peeling: Peeling or bubbling may occur after some time, especially in salty or chlorine environments, without damaging the structural integrity of the frame.
    • Frost: Frost damage may occur, in case there’s a buildup of water inside the frame, it is important to allow circulation and not to close any holes at the bottom of the legs or the frame.
    • Touch Up: Touch up paint is available to repair scratches or peeling.

    TEAK:

Manutti only uses teak of the very best quality, from trees that are 60 to 80 years old originating from environmentally friendly forest management. Manutti works with the IndonesianTrees4Trees non-profit foundation that empowers local communities by means of cooperation initiatives relating to reforestation, while also providing training programs. The foundation's activities are financed by contributions from participating producers who contribute financially to replace the trees they use in their products.

Teak is resistant to UV radiation, chlorine and water, while being easy to clean and 100% recyclable. When left untreated a natural gray patina originates. To avoid this you can use specific care products such as Manutti Teak Cleaner, Manutti Teak Stain Protector and Manutti Teak Color Refresher (see Manutti Care Line).

  • POWDER COATED ALUMINUM:

The high-quality aluminum alloys are suitable for long-term outdoor use. Our frames are characterized down to the smallest detail, by their extremely sturdy construction and ingenious features.

Various surface treatments with different appearances ensure that the alloys remain durable. The chairs and supporting frames are fitted with abrasion-resistant synthetic gliders in order to protect your floor.

Clean the anodized frames of the furniture mentioned above using a sponge, warm water and soap. Rinse with fresh water. We recommend that furniture be cleaned at least on a yearly basis.

Do not clean using any type of abrasive agent or scouring pad.

    STAINLESS STEEL:

The stainless steel is weather-resistant and durable. All stainless steel furniture is equipped with high-quality synthetic gliders to protect precious flooring. Like other materials, stainless steel must be cleaned regularly.

Salt from sea water, metallic particles in the air and chlorine from swimming pools are all substances that must not be left on the steel for too long. The more aggressive the environment the more frequently the metallic furniture must be rinsed and cleaned in order to neutralize deposits.

Furniture that is used inland with little or no direct exposure to salt water or chlorinated water requires a monthly cleaning to remove natural deposits, which can damage the frame and lead to deterioration.

Using fresh water only, simply spray the frames down thoroughly, with a high pressure. Dry with a cloth to avoid water spots.

Furniture that is used in windy coastal areas but not directly on the coast with blowing sand and salt water particles in the air or exposed directly to chlorinated water, a regular weekly cleaning as described above is required to maintain ideal frame condition.

**Furniture that is used directly on the coast. Special consideration should be used when selecting stainless steel -- regular cleanings cannot be overlooked. In these environments a weekly cleaning is required and it is advisable to often use a sponge and mild soap to more thoroughly clean off any deposits**

    CERAMIC:

In general, daily cleaning of OASIQ ceramic table tops can be performed using warm water and possibly neutral detergents. The detergents will need to be diluted according to the information provided on their packaging.

Rinse with abundant water. Over time and due to the use of regular commercial detergents, an opaque film may form on the surface of the slab. Certain drinks such as cola, water and wine could eliminate the opaque film restoring the original appearance to the slabs, if spilled by accident on the surface of the slabs. The marks thus created would be the only clean parts of the surface.

To avoid the development of such waxes and opaque films, it is recommended to use only neutral detergents for routine cleaning, while to remove such deposits it will be necessary to de-wax the entire surface.

    HPL:

The high-quality HPL (high pressure laminate) tops of our furniture are suitable for year-round use in the open air. They are remarkably robust and easy to clean.

    • To Clean: Clean HPL tops with a sponge and mild soap, preferably with warm water.

    TEAK:

Teak is one of the most valuable commercial timbers in the world. It is resistant to moisture, sun, frost and temperature fluctuations. This makes it particularly suitable for long-term use outdoors – without any additional surface protection.

Our teak furniture is supplied with the wood in its natural state, in the old English tradition, since the majority of purchasers want to use the furniture in the open air without painting. Over time, the influence of the weather gives the wood a silver-gray patina.

Teak is a natural product and therefore always has a different grain. To be processed, the wood must be pre-dried, which sometimes gives it a partly reddish-brown hue. However, this disappears after a few weeks in the sun’s UV rays. Fine hairline cracks may appear on the surface; this is also a natural phenomenon which does not in any way affect the stability and durability of the furniture.

    • To Clean & Maintain:
      • Clean teak furniture twice a year with a brush and mild soap, preferably with warm water. This prevents dirt from the atmosphere from becoming deeply embedded in the grain of the wood.
      • When furniture first arrives, dust with damp cloth to remove “teak dust”.
      • It is advised for the first 3 months that cushions be removed as often as possible, as the natural oils reach the surface layer of the wood and can stain cushions.
      • Every 6 to 12 months, scrub furniture with a soft bristle brush, using mild soap (such as natural liquid dish detergent) and rinse with fresh water, to prevent build up of mildew feeding on the wood’s natural oils.
      • Teak can be “watered” often using fresh water to help the weathering process develop more evenly.

There are three different stains that may occur with teak. Below you will find further instructions on how to remove them:

    • Water stains - Arise as a result of a natural process when pigments are secreted from the inside of the wood. Mild soap and a scrubbing brush can be used to help remove the water stain. A teak brightener can be used as well to make the stains disappear.
    • Black stains - Also may appear on the teak as well from environmental interactions that are caused by stubborn dirt deposits or chemical reactions with elements in the air. These black stains can be removed with a high pressure hose or sanding the affected surface to remove the stain.
    • Grease, oil, wine or wax - Can be removed with a spirit or benzine, if it is a deeper stain you can also sand the teak as well.

    GLASS:

Our tables are fitted with panes of safety glass which meet the same quality standards as car side windows. Use a commercial glass cleaner; avoid products that scour or scratch.

    ROPE:

The rope is manufactured by LEISURETEX and is a combination of PVC and acrylic. This strong combination enables both the Yland and Sandur collection to be durable yet comfortable.

    • To clean:
      • Spot wash by sponging briskly with a mild soap in lukewarm water.
      • Thoroughly rinse with clean water to remove soap.
      • Allow to air dry completely before storing.
      • Do not use oil cleaners. Insect repellents and suntan lotions are not recommended near the rope material. Insect repellents and suntan lotions can reduce the life of fabric, accelerate fading and stain fabrics.
    • Damage:
      • To avoid damage:
        • Wipe clean with mild laundry detergent and warm water.
        • Do not use bleach or harsh detergents under any circumstances. It is very important that you DO NOT USE STEAM. Acrylic fibers are made of 100% acrylic fiber and are thermoplastic or heat sensitive.
        • When spot washing, use lukewarm water (under 100°F).
        • Allow to air dry.
        • Do not use solvents, carbon tetrachloride, scouring agents, bleach, janitorial cleansers, gasoline or brushes.

    MESH:

Mesh is used in selected collections for its comfort and ease of replacing. It is an extremely durable and high quality material consisting of a polyester fiber covered by a coating of PVC, making it highly resistant to tearing. The flexibility of material is ideal for clients wishing to avoid the need for cushions. Sagging is minimal as it has a maximum stretch of 3%. It is 100% synthetic and resistant to rot and mildew. It is highly resistant to UV radiation and fading and is easily cleaned. It can withstand temperature extremes, ranging from -22°F (-30°C) to 158°F (70°C), although it can melt if in contact with a flame source.

    To Clean:

    • Simply wash mesh, with a mild natural soap and freshwater, using a soft bristle brush.
    • Rinse and dry with a cloth, to avoid water stains from settling on the stainless steel frames.

    Stain Removal:

    Stain Removal
Common Dirt Warm water and strong detergent
Oil or Grease Use bleach and rubbing alcohol
Mildew Use strong detergent and warm water with bleach
Beer or Coffee Strong liquid detergent with warm water
Berry Juices, Wine, or Blood Use strong liquid detergent, warm water and Ammonia

    CUSHIONS:

    • When cushions first arrive, make sure to wipe down furniture before putting cushions on. We recommend covering cushions or taking them indoors when not in use, and certainly during wet weather. This is especially true during initial weathering of new teak furniture when oils will leach out of the wood in damp conditions.
    • As such, it is advised to keep cushions off of teak furniture when not in use especially during the first 3 months. To prolong the new look of cushions, we recommended that you regularly brush off dirt to prevent it from settling deep in the fabric, as mildew may grow on dirt and other deposits on the fabric.
    • Depending on what kind of fabric that you use, consult with the fabric manufacturer to find out what they recommend for general cleaning, but in most cases, simply scrub off dirt using a soft bristle brush with fresh water mixed with a small amount of natural soap. Do not soak the cushion thoroughly, just enough to get the surface dirt off.
    • If the cushion does get soaked thoroughly, due to cleaning or rainy weather, unzip the cover and dry thoroughly in an open air environment. Remove foam insert for more efficient drying. Drying time may require several days, depending on wetness of cushion, environmental factors, and the type of foam selected for your cushions. The best way to avoid a long drying out time is to keep cushions in a dry storage area.

    ALL-WEATHER WICKER:

All-weather wicker is used in our Astor collection and it consists of a material called Polypeel. Polypeel is a synthetic, tensile-strength polyethylene fiber. It is 100% recyclable, non-toxic and highly durable. Polypeel is insensitive to UV rays, temperature fluctuations and harsh weather conditions.

All-weather wicker is safe around pools and ocean water as it is protected from harsh environments due to its composition. However, color pigmentation can affect the color consistency of our all-weather wicker, so there may be slight color variations between production batches. Such variations are unavoidable.

    To Clean:

    • Simply rinse it down with water.

    Stubborn Stains:

    • Use equal parts water, mild soap and vinegar and rinse thoroughly.
    • Dry with a dry cloth to avoid water marks.

  • REGULAR MAINTENANCE:

It is important to perform regular maintenance and safety checks on your fire table. Proper maintenance will extend the life of the product and its components.

Stainless steel will rust or corrode over time if contamination or debris is not cleaned or removed. When not in use, it is recommended that the fire table is protected with a canvas cover in order to protect it from weather and debris.

    BURNER ASSEMBLY:

The burner must be inspected and cleaned annually. The burner assembly must be replaced prior to the appliance being put into use if any evidence of damage is found. The replacement burner assembly must be one specified by Pyromania Inc. in the parts list located on page 15.

    • Inspect & Clean: To inspect and clean the burner pan and ring, follow these steps:
      • Remove the decorative lava rock and examine the burner. Vacuum and clean it as necessary. Inspect the burner pan and ring for warping and corrosion. Repair or replace as necessary.
      • Verify that the burner ring holes are not clogged with debris. Clear as necessary.
      • Clean the burner ring and pan with a soft wire brush.
      • Verify the air shutter is clear of spider webs, insects and debris. Confirm that it is set in the right position for the fuel type being used (the air shutter is located underneath the burner assembly).
      • Verify that the stainless steel flex pipes are tight and undamaged. Tighten and/or replace as necessary, then perform a leak test.

    GAS SUPPLY HOSE:

Check the hose assembly for excessive abrasion or wear. The hose assembly must be replaced prior to the appliance being put into use if any evidence of damage is found. The replacement hose assembly must be one specified by Pyromania Inc. in the parts list.

    FIRE TABLE BODY:

For routine cleaning of the fire table, wipe down with a damp cloth or sponge and mild dish soap. Avoid using any other cleaners as they may contain chemicals that can cause discoloration. To remove stains, use a marble or granite stain remover available at a local home improvement or masonry supply store. Follow the application instructions provided by the stain remover manufacturer. The fire table surface was sealed at the factory to help protect against staining. Over time, the sealer will break down and must be re-applied. It is recommended to reseal the surface annually with an outdoor concrete sealer available at a local home improvement or masonry supply store. Follow the application instructions provided by the sealer manufacturer.

    STORAGE:

Storage of the appliance indoors is permissible only if the gas source is disconnected and gas cylinders are removed from the appliance.

When storing propane cylinders, they must be stored in an outdoor location out of reach of children. Never store tanks in an enclosed environment, in direct sunlight or near a source of heat or combustion. Propane cylinders should have a dust cap installed when being stored.

To extend the life of your fire table, protect it from the elements with the supplied weather resistant cover when not in use. Ensure that the appliance has ample time to cool off after use and prior to installing the cover.

**Damage to the cover due to heator burns are not covered by the warranty

We consider it our obligation to give more to the planet than we consume. Our dedicated team constantly monitors the full traceability of each piece of wood used in our production, ensuring a sustainable business practice.

    REGULAR MAINTENANCE:

    • Cleaning:
      • Wash the furniture using a brush and Royal Botania’s outdoor furniture maintenance products once a year. This will remove algae and lichens where required.
      • Tilting furniture and keeping the feet off wet ground will help to keep the legs in good shape.
      • Alternatively, heavy-duty waterproof covers will keep out the worst of the winter weather.

    WOOD:

    • Natural Teak: Teak will turn from a golden-brown color when new, to a silvery-gray when weathered. If the original color is preferred, teak protector can be applied, but this removes the natural patina. Our top quality teak can last for many years with no treatment at all, but with the best care you’ll keep it in top shape.

    STAINLESS STEEL:

Stainless steel is easy to clean and washing with soap or a mild detergent and warm water, followed by a clear water rinse, is usually quite adequate for domestic, architectural and commercial catering equipment. If the water is hard, the steel should then be dried with a soft cloth to prevent water spotting.

You’ll find your choice of outdoor furniture maintenance products in the Royal Botania product range.

        • Insert the pin into one of the three holes in the upper portion of the pole. Please note that with use the higher pin placement will become easier as the umbrella canopy stretches slightly.
        • Loop the rope and place it in the metal hook near the pin. To close, grasp the rope firmly to maintain the canopy’s position and then remove the pin. Lower the canopy by slowly releasing the rope. Secure the fabric ties around the canopy.
      • Regular Maintenance:
        • Always close and tie the umbrella in the base when it is not in use. This will protect it against damage from unexpected inclement weather or high gusts of wind.
        • For maximum protection, we recommend using a storage cover. If the umbrella becomes wet because of rain or snow, open it for a complete airing and make certain it is totally dry before closing it again.
        • Brass hardware will age to a beautiful antique finish and will need no further care.
    • WOOD:
      • Natural Teak:
        • Clean this wood with a mild solution of soap and water on a soft cotton cloth to remove surface dirt.
        • Plain water will not harm the wood.
        • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring powders.
      • Varnished Maple, Mahogany or Douglas Fir -
        • Clean this finish with a mild solution of soap and water on a soft cotton cloth.
        • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring powders.
        • If rain or water splashes on the pole or frame, dry it with a soft, clean cloth.

    • FABRIC:
      • The life of your canopy will be greatly extended with regular maintenance.
      • Cleaning: We recommend cleaning your canopy at least once every four weeks, using a hose with a spray nozzle.
        • Open the umbrella with the pin in the lowest hole on the pole, and loosen the thumb screws on the base, so that the umbrella can spin freely.
        • Spray water directly on the canopy, using the water pressure to slowly spin the umbrella as you clean off the dirt.
        • Repeat for as many revolutions as necessary, and allow the canopy to dry.
        • You can see the process here: Canopy Cleaning Video
      • For deeper cleaning:
        • With the umbrella open, scrub the fabric cover gently with a soft-bristled brush using a mild solution of soap and water.
        • Rinse thoroughly with cold water and allow the cover to dry completely before closing.
      • For stubborn spots:
        • Spray with a household cleaner such as 409 or Simple Green, or sprinkle generously with Oxy Clean.
        • Scrub gently and rinse thoroughly with cold water.
        • Allow the cover to dry completely before closing.
      • Canopies are fabricated in 100% solution-dyed acrylic, and should never be dry cleaned.

    • STORAGE:
      • Cover the umbrella with the storage cover or a clean tarp and lay on a hard, flat surface in a well-ventilated, protected location.

  • REGULAR MAINTENANCE:

Summit furniture is made of the finest plantation-grown teak available. To keep your Summit furniture looking its best, we suggest the following easy care guidelines:

    NATURAL TEAK:

    • Regular Cleaning: Your teak, over time, will turn from its original golden brown color to a silvery gray patina. During this transition period, you may notice a “moiré” effect caused by the oils in the wood coming to the surface and mixing with moisture in the air. This is a normal stage the teak goes through as it starts to weather and can easily be washed off with soapy water. Your teak, as with anything left outdoors, will be subject to airborne impurities such as pollen and dirt. Frequent hosing off of your furniture will help it stay clean and weather evenly. Teak loves water!
    • Deep Cleaning: Your furniture should receive a more thorough cleaning periodically. Use a medium stiff bristle brush and soapy water or teak cleaner. A gentle powerwash is effective as well.
    • Sanding: Any roughness or surface abrasions can be removed by light sanding. We recommend 100-400 grit sandpaper.

    TEAK SEALER TREATMENT:

Semco™ teak sealer inhibits the sun’s ultraviolet rays from “aging” the natural teak wood. The golden brown color of the natural teak can be preserved by periodic reapplication of teak sealer. Summit offers two options, natural sealer which retains the teak color, and coffee, a darker, custom blended stain.

The following tips will help keep your teak sealed furniture in prime condition:

    • Regular Cleaning:
      • Frequent hosing will help keep airborne impurities off your furniture.
      • Stubborn stains may be sponged off with soapy water.
      • Spot re-application of sealer may be required.
    • Reapplication of Teak Sealer:
      • The teak sealer treatment applied at our warehouse will wear away with time, depending on your particular environment and use.
      • When this happens, clean your furniture thoroughly first, then reapply the teak sealer treatment.
      • One gallon of teak sealer is enough to treat 8-10 pieces of furniture.
To order Semco Teak Products, call (800) 662.0223.
    • Indoor finishes: Summit teak is not just for outdoors. Our furniture is frequently specified for indoor spaces. For these installations we recommend an indoor finish. We offer the following choices:
      • Clear (satin finish) - preserves the natural teak color
      • Amber (satin finish) - golden stain
      • Cognac (satin finish) - medium dark brown stain finish and treatment prices are listed with specifications.

    BRASS AND STAINLESS STEEL HARDWARE:

We recommend using a stainless steel or brass cleaner, as applicable. Follow the manufacturers’ instructions, taking care not to get any of the cleaner on the teak, as it may discolor it.

    CUSHIONS:

Cushion cores are constructed with resonated fiber wrap over Dri-fast TM foam. Pillow cores contain cluster fiber with a mildew-resistant ticking cover.

Fabric is C.O.M. (Customer’s Own Material). Summit offers 100% solution dyed acrylic fabrics and 100% solution dyed polypropylene fabrics in a variety of colors, styles and patterns. Contact Summit or the nearest representative showroom for prices and additional information.

The combination of Summit’s core construction and solution dyed fabric makes our cushions and pillows ideal for outdoor use. Store your cushions in a dry area when not in use to prolong their life. If your cushions and pillows do get wet, unzip them and stand them on end to facilitate drying.

Please contact your showroom representative with any questions regarding maintenance. With minimal care, your Summit furniture will stay beautiful for many years to come

  • RESIN FRAMES:

Resin frames are virtually maintenance free.

    • To Clean:
      • Over time if the resin gets grimy from accumulated dust particles, they can simply be cleaned with spray from a hose.
    • Stubborn Stains:
      • For more stubborn cases, a mild soap mixed with water and a soft brush or sponge can be used.
      • After cleaning with a mild soap, the cleaned areas can be sprayed with a hose to remove any remaining soap.
      • The frame can also be dried with a cotton cloth, or just left to air dry.

    CUSHIONS:

If the cushions are not being covered with storage covers, it is always best to take the cushions in during inclement weather or when not being used for long periods of time.

    • To Clean:
      • If the cushions do get rained on, they should be tilted up on their side so that any accumulated water can drain properly.
      • After all water has drained from the cushions, they should be left out in the sun to dry out thoroughly.

  • Tuuci® frames are constructed from durable, marine grade, weather-resistant materials including fiberglass, armor-wall aluminum, Dura-TEAK composites, Aluma-TEAK aluminum and sustainable hardwood. All fasteners (nuts, bolts, pulleys, cam cleats, etc.) are marine grade stainless steel to withstand the most corrosive environments.

Tuuci’s High Performance Textile parasol canopies employ the most durable and state of the art marine grade fabrics and thread, including proven high-performance, UV stable materials.

Proper care and maintenance are important to extend the serviceable life of all Tuuci products.

    REGULAR MAINTENANCE:

Caring for your Tuuci Parasol Canopies, Curtains and Tensioned Fabric Walls -

    • Hand Wash
    • Do Not Tumble Dry
    • Hang to Dry
    • Non-Chlorine Bleach if Needed
    • Do Not Wring
    • Do Not Iron
    • Do Not Dry Clean

    GENERAL CLEANING:

Use a sponge or soft brush to apply mild soap and warm water to the fabric, rinse thoroughly, and air dry.

    • For stubborn stains or mildew:
      • Add one cup of bleach per gallon of soap and water, apply directly to the stain, use a sponge or soft brush to clean. Allow mixture to soak into fabric for up to 15 minutes, rinse thoroughly, and air dry. If necessary, repeat with additional bleach.
    • Prior to opening, ensure that the shade product is properly secured to an adequate shade anchor, using the locking system intended for the specific product (star knob, hitch pin or cam lock).
    • Freshwater rinses once a week will enhance the life and long-lasting beauty of your Tuuci shade equipment.

Weekly inspection of your Tuuci product is recommended. Loose screws should be tightened, and any broken components replaced immediately to avoid further damage to your product.

When opening a Tuuci parasol, separate each rib 6 inches from the center post, before raising the hub. Do not force the hub if it does not rise easily. When closing the parasol, pull the fabric out from between the struts to avoid pinching or damaging the Tuuci high performance textile canopy membrane.

    TUUCI IN HIGH WIND:

Although many Tuuci frames have been tested for structural integrity in winds exceeding 50 MPH, it is always recommended that caution and common sense be applied in extreme wind and weather conditions. Tuuci recommends that all collapsible shade equipment be closed in wind conditions that exceed 25 MPH. The stability of Tuuci shade products in heavy wind and severe weather conditions is directly related to the size, weight, and security of the shade anchor. Please use reasonable and cautious judgment when determining when the parasol should be closed.

    ROUTINE CARE FOR SHADE ANCHORS:

ALWAYS BE SURE THAT THE PARASOL MAST IS FIRMLY ATTACHED TO THE SHADE ANCHOR BEFORE OPENING

Clean above ground parasol shade anchors regularly to maintain appearance. To clean, gently wash with soap and water using a non-abrasive cloth or pad. Check all bolts in the shade anchor plate regularly to ensure that they remain fully tightened. Inspect weekly if parasol shade anchors are moved on a regular basis.

Do not roll Aluma-crete (Aluminum Shell, Concrete Filled) shade anchors on their side as damage to shell or finish will occur. Touch up shade anchors with exterior paint as needed. Touch up paint can be ordered from the Tuuci parts department at parts@tuuci.com. Wheeled parasol shade anchors are intended for use on even surfaces. Move shade anchors slowly and with caution on uneven surfaces. Do not use it on stairways or over distances which exceed 50 feet, as damage to the welded wheel tray may occur.

    FABRICS:

Tuuci High-Performance Textile Canopies, Curtains, and Tensioned Fabric Walls

Tuuci’s high performance textile parasol canopies employ the most durable and state of the art marine fabrics and thread including proven high-performance, UV stable materials.

    ESSENTIAL CANOPY CLEANING:

Tuuci high performance textiles should be cleaned regularly before dirt is allowed to accumulate and become embedded in the fabric.

    • To Clean:
      • The fabric canopy can be cleaned without being removed from the frame.
      • Simply brush off any loose dirt or particles
      • Hose down and clean with a mild soap in lukewarm water (no more than 100° F.)
      • Rinse thoroughly to remove soap.
      • Allow fabric to air dry.
      • Do not use heavy detergents.
    • Stubborn Stain:
      • For stubborn stains, clean with a mild soap and add one cup of bleach to a gallon of water
      • Scrub vigorously with a soft bristle brush, sponge or clean towel.
      • Allow fabric to air dry.

This method of cleaning may remove part of the water repellency. If water repellency is a factor, the fabric should receive an application of an air-curing water repellent treatment (such as SM fabric guard).

    TUUCI HIGH PERFORMANCE TEXTILE CARE:

Tuuci’s High Performance Textiles provide top quality marine grade fabrics. Tuuci’s High Performance Textiles may be machine washed but a water repellent treatment must be applied to the fabric after washing to re-establish water repellency. Tuuci’s High Performance Textiles are made from 100% acrylic fiber and are thermoplastic or heat sensitive.

When washing or cleaning, do not subject to excessive heat as the fabric will shrink.

    • Do not steam press or dry in electric or gas dryers.
    • Allow to air dry.

In cases where your parasol is taken down and stored during the winter season, the Tuuci high performance textile canopy should be cleaned, allowed to air dry, and stored in a dry, well-ventilated area. A Tuuci Protective Cover should be used at all times when the parasol is not in use to ensure the longest serviceable life.

    REPLACEMENT PARTS:

Parasol Repair - Proper care and maintenance should prevent broken parasols, but in the case your parasol is in need of repair, all Tuuci products are built with 100% replaceable parts. Please email info@tuuci.com for information on where to order parts and order replacements.

    DEKTON:

At Vondom we understand innovation as the opportunity to do something different. With this objective in mind, we have recently incorporated Dekton®, a very low-maintenance, long-lasting and highly resistant material. Qualities that perfect key pieces of our collections, the tables. This material has a complex manufacturing process that results in thin and elegant sheets composed of a mixture of more than 20 natural minerals. These include state-of-the-art porcelain and quartz surfaces.

Dekton is highly resistant due to its non-porosity. This means that it does not absorb stains. The finish is inspired by natural stone and gives a soft matt effect to the surfaces of some of the side tables in the Vondom collections. We have incorporated Dekton in three finishes: Entzo (white with brown tones), Danae (sand tone) and Kelya (dark gray). Elegance, versatility and chromatic warmth that give a timeless character to the space and seeks to enhance our philosophy, creating a dialogue between the environment and the forms.

    WOODS:

At Vondom we are always in search of natural beauty, which is why we are committed to organic materials such as wood, giving our collections a unique personality. We incorporate different woods for our furniture, with a warmer and more relaxed style. A material that enhances the beauty of the environment in which they are placed, turning it into wonderful spaces where we feel like feeling, living and enjoying.

    Fraxinus

A very versatile wood that offers excellent quality and resistance. At Vondom we use ash wood for the legs of tables and chairs, available in two shades. They are ideal pieces for cutlery.

    Iroko

It is a tropical wood well known for its strength, stability and durability. It has an antiseptic resin that makes it resistant to attack by various organisms such as termites or fungi. It is a very versatile material, 100% recyclable, a perfect solution for both indoor and outdoor furniture.

    Teak

It stands out for its resistance to extreme weather conditions and water. In addition, it has a natural oil coating that makes it impermeable, prevents rotting and provides resistance to fungi, termites and wood-boring pests. A proposal for outdoor furniture that Vondom offers in two finishes: natural and aged.

    ALUMINUM

Aluminum is a metal characterized by its low density and high resistance to corrosion and impact. It is also 100% recyclable. At Vondom we work with two types of aluminum, AISI12 ( EN AC-44100 ) and 6060 ( AIMgSi, 3.3206,A96060 ). Both aluminiums are painted with epoxy baked paint.

    PMMA (Polymethylmethacrylate):

PMMA is a highly transparent thermoplastic polymer obtained from the polymerisation of the monomer methyl methacrylate. Due to its high transparency, aesthetics and scratch resistance, it is the ideal material to incorporate interior light and turn the pieces into magical luminaires for decoration.

    • To Clean:
      • Place the part on an even surface with no slope to avoid uncontrolled movement.
      • If the LED stops working, do not handle it under any circumstances and contact the manufacturer or distributor of the product.

    POLYCARBONATE:

Polycarbonate is a group of thermoplastics, easy to work, mold and thermoform, with high resistance to breakage. At Vondom we incorporate this material through the injection molding process with the intention of creating attractive furniture with a fast production cycle. Polycarbonate furniture is one of today’s leading trends! Polycarbonate furniture is UV and weather resistant. They have a high impact resistance and are characterized by a special robustness and hardness.

    • To Clean:
      • Rub with a damp cloth and soap or liquid detergent. Avoid using acetone, ammonia or detergents containing any amount of these substances, which attack plastics.
      • Dry the area to remove moisture and soap residue.

Exposure to the sun, especially dark colors, can cause injury through skin contact. Be careful to check the temperature of the furniture before use during hours of extreme sunlight. Place the piece on a regular surface without slope to avoid uncontrolled displacements.

For a better conservation of the furniture, it is advisable to cover each item.

    POLYURETHANE:

    Resistance to extreme weather conditions

Polyurethane foam is a highly elastic material used in the furniture industry. It is characterized by the fact that when the load to which it has been subjected is removed, it instantly recovers its original shape. The final finish results in a rigid, non-porous or high density material.

    To Clean:

    • Soap up the area and the surrounding area with a cloth.
    • Always brush in just one direction.
    • In order to avoid differences between the recently cleaned areas and the rest of the product, we recommend washing the whole product.

    Vondom Polyurethane Cleaning Instructions

For a better preservation of the furniture, it is advisable to cover each of the items.

    POLYETHYLENE:

It is one of the most versatile plastics that exist, with multiple advantages over other materials. At Vondom we use this material through the rotational molding technique to manufacture different product lines, such as planters and furniture for indoors and outdoors. We are currently the company with the widest catalog of design products made of polyethylene. Due to their low density, parts made of polyethylene are very light and bulky, which makes them easy to transport. • Indoor and Outdoor Casual furniture deserves exceptional care. WALTERS furniture can be enjoyed for many years when it is well maintained.

    REGULAR MAINTENANCE:

Wash the furniture when needed with a mild detergent and water, rinse, dry thoroughly. Rinsing in all maintenance should not be done with pressure washing units and water over 100 degrees Fahrenheit temperature. It is best to perform this maintenance two to three times per year or more frequently in areas with poor air quality. Please note that these durable materials can be safely cleaned as often as desired.

Note: Some harsh cleaning agents, suntan and sunblock products may be harmful to resin, outdoor fabrics, mesh, and straps. Do not allow such products to come in contact with the products, which are not covered under warranty.

    REMOVING PACKAGING:

The packaging that surrounds your new product was designed to prevent damage during transportation. It is durable and protects the material inside. Do not use knives to cut plastic or cardboard nearest the product. This can cause the natural or resin weave strands to get cut. Cut material is not covered within the manufacturer’s warranty. We ask that you recycle the packaging material as part of our commitment to protect the environment we all live in.

    ABACA ROPE:

    • Wet Spills: Wet spills should never be wiped; they should be blotted immediately. Apply warm, soapy water to the stain with a clean, wet cloth. Blot with a dry cloth to soak up spills and water. Repeat until the area is dry and free of stains.
    • Dry Spills: For dry spills, remove loose debris with handheld vacuum or standard vacuum with hose attachment. Do not drag bristles or vacuum head across the surface as this will damage the weave. Seagrass or Water Hyacinth Wet spills should be blotted immediately. Simply use water, weak alkaline solution, a soft brush and a sponge to clean. Dust can be quite easily removed with a vacuum cleaner. If you notice stains, you can use a thin blend of Murphy Oil Soap, wipe gently and allow to air dry. Be sure to leave the damp area exposed to the air, as dampness could lead to the formation of mold.

    RATTAN OR WOOD FINISHES:

    • Cleaning: Rattan stained finishes may be cleaned with a soft, damped and lint-free cloth and dry immediately. Always wipe with long straight strokes rather than circular motions to avoid creating a swirl mark.
    • Do not use an oil based polish or products that contain silicone as they can damage the finish.
    • Teak: Teak should be left alone to age naturally. It will naturally turn to a soft elegant gray, called patina. This process can take up to nine months depending on the intensity of the sunlight and weather exposure. Imperfections are inherent to the wood and will change over time enhancing the beauty. To maintain teak, use a soft brush to remove any dust or dirt. Brush in the direction of the grain. For stubborn stains wash with a mild detergent and water and rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Do not oil the wood; it may cause mildew and stain the coloring. Teak produces its own natural oils to keep it in balance in nature.
    • Mahogany: Mahogany and other hardwoods are natural to tropical climates. They expand and contract with exposure to different temperatures and humidity. Clean the wood with a damp cloth and wipe off excessive water, oil, drinks, and food spills to avoid discoloration. Keep mahogany out of direct weather under a protected roof.

    WOVEN LEATHER:

    • Features: Because leather is a natural material, each hide will have unique characteristics. Several hides are used to upholster each item. The resulting variations in color, grain, and natural markings all contribute to your item’s beautiful and natural appeal. Leather is a highly durable upholstery material.
    • Stains: Gently blot soiled area with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge. If stain or spill does not disappear, clean by using a circular motion with light to moderate pressure. Do NOT rub with force. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth with lukewarm water and let air dry.
    • Difficult Stains: Use a mild, non-detergent soap or saddle soap to remove. Apply the soap to a clean sponge or cloth - dampen and wipe the affected area gently. Rinse with lukewarm water and a damp cloth. Allow the leather to air dry.

    WICKER:

    • Dust: Regular dusting with a soft cloth, microfiber duster, or feather duster helps keep any type of wicker looking great.
    • Heavy Dust: For heavier dust, use a small soft-bristled paintbrush; to remove dirt from those crevices where wicker meets the furniture frame, switch to an old toothbrush.
    • Cleaning: Regularly clean wicker furniture with the brush attachment of your vacuum, being sure to set the suction to its lowest level to avoid causing damage.

    Thorough Cleaning:

    • Wicker pieces need a more thorough cleaning once or twice a year.
    • Moisten a microfiber cloth or cotton cloth with warm water, then gently rub the wicker surface, top and bottom.
    • Heavier Stains: For heavier dirt and stains, wipe with a cleaning cloth that's been lightly moistened with warm water and mild soap; wipe again with plain water.
    • Mildew & Mold: To eliminate mold or mildew, wipe with a mixture of 25% white vinegar and 75% water, then wipe again with plain water.

    STAINLESS STEEL:

    • Precautions: Do not use stainless steel frames near the ocean. Ocean salt water can damage the stainless Steel finish.
    • Rust: If a stain or rust spot appears clean promptly. Rust can permanently etch the steel surface. Apply a non - abrasive stainless steel cleaner/polish. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Rub with the grain not in a circular motion. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry. If stain still remains, use a no scratch scrub sponge or hand pad to polish the stainless steel.
    • Bleach: Do not use bleach, cleaners with bleach, hydrochloric acid, abrasive pads or cleaners.

    • Cleaning: Wash the outdoor cushions with a solution of mild detergent and water and rinse thoroughly, rinse with water and dry. Place cushions on end to allow them to dry completely.
    • Stains: Light stains can be removed with instructions from the fabric manufacturer.
    • Precautions: Do not dry clean or use a washing machine or dryer. Do not steam or use water above 100 ̊. Do not use bleach or solvent type materials on woven vinyl as they may damage the material.

    STONE AND MARBLE:

    • Features: Non-porous stone and marble may be used for outdoor use.
    • Maintenance: To maintain, apply a stone sealer every 6 months to protect and restore the top. This should be repeated each year before winter storage.
    • Stains: If a tabletop is stained with any liquid or food, clean immediately with a mild detergent and rinse with water.
    • Storage: In cooler climates the product should be stored in a dry indoor area and or be covered to protect from the winter environments. Allow some space between the cover and the stone so that moisture is not trapped on the surface.

    POWDER COATED ALUMINUM:

    • Features: Powder coated aluminum frames are very durable and resilient in the outdoor application.
    • Frequency: Periodically clean the finish with a sponge or soft brush to remove debris.
    • Clean: Clean with a mild soap with warm water rinse thoroughly. Avoid using abrasive cleaners. Do not use any solutions with bleach in them.
